Parme Marin’s creative and innovative design aesthetic, coupled with her commitment to the support and empowerment of female artisans, has escalated her into one of the most exciting up-and- coming designers to watch, including selection as one of Vogue’s 2013 New Talents. Parme’s inspirations – New York City and architecture of the 1930s, African textile design and artist Daniel Buren – are the composition of both her staple and one-of-a-kind pieces. Her personal philosophy, “eclectic, architectural elegance,” is what influences both Parme’s daily life and designs. Her pieces, with an air of versatility that allows them to be worn throughout the seasons, are constructed with materials sourced from local Moroccan artisans, ensuring minimal environmental impact and the highest quality. Their geometric shapes and mix of colors and patterns, combined with their use of raw and recycled materials, including bone, leather and feathers, is Parme’s personal interpretation of a woman’s strength, power and attitude. Parme Marin’s Park Hyatt exhibition is her first of this kind, and aims to showcase a blend of her classic collection pieces, as well as her one-of-a-kinds, while simultaneously bringing awareness to the artisans she works so closely with overseas. Each encasement walks guests through Parme’s creative vision and philosophy, whether it’s selecting beads and stones at a Moroccan souk or a deeper explanation of a particular piece’s conception, guests are given the chance to truly dive deeper into the avant-garde brands state of mind. The exhibition will run until September 30 th and can be found at the Park Hyatt Hotel: 153 West 57 th Street.
