The Event Mission

Why does every event need a mission?

A mission statement is a statement of the purpose of …the event… its reason for existing.

The mission statement should guide the actions of the organization, spell out its overall goal, provide a path, and guide decision-making.

Why do events?Events engage membership/volunteers and connect them together. The result is members/volunteers stay longer and are more likely to become significant donors.

As volunteers we give a lot of ourselves.  This retreat gives us the opportunity to broaden our circle of support and knowledge.

I learned so much that I can take back to my girls- but more importantly I met a lot of great people that renewed my energy and excitement for what we do.

Greatest value was meeting other leaders, making friends, almost feeling like a kid again, and sharing our challenges in Girl Scouts

New friends; shared support with other women and the realization that we are in this life journey together... reach out and support each other, not just in Girl Scouts, but in our lives!
