  • Sport Premium Funding Our current 2014/15 Sport Premium allocation by the Government for investment in primary school PE and sport (guaranteed until 2016) stands at 8585, which this year has provided additional resources to ensure impact for all young people in a sustainable way.

  • Raise school standards By getting our physical education and school sport strategies right, we expect to increase achievement and raise school standards. This additional investment from central government is seen as a school improvement opportunity, as well as getting more successful athletes competing at district and county level and in future Olympic and Paralympic Games.

  • Physical and emotional well-being High quality physical education and school sport contributes to a range of outcomes for young people. Not only does it equip young people with physical literacy; supporting their physical development, movement skills and body confidence: it also contributes to their physical, mental and emotional health and well-being.
