Where did football originate from?

The Ancient Greeks and Romans are known to have played many ball games, some of which involved the use of the feet ( football). The Roman game harpastum is believed to have been adapted from a Greek team game known as episkyros or phaininda, which is mentioned by a Greek playwright, Antiphanes (388–311 BC) and later referred to by the Christian theologian Clement of Alexandria (c.150-c.215 AD). These games appear to have resembled rugby football.The Roman politician Cicero (106-43 BC) describes the case of a man who was killed whilst having a shave when a ball was kicked into a barber's shop. Later In 1863, London Football Association was formed in England. In 1871, FA had almost fifty member clubs. It was the beginning of the football world cup. The first international football match was played between Scotland and England in 1872. Fergus Suter and John Love were the two people who were awarded for their aptitude in football.

In 1873, 1875 and 1880 Football Association of Scotland, Wales and Ireland were formed respectively. Gradually, other European countries including Netherlands and Denmark adopted soccer in 1889 and formed their respective football associations. In 1891, New Zealand established its first soccer association. In 1893, Argentina formed its soccer association. In 1895, Chile, Switzerland and Belgium formed their soccer teams and established their football associations. Three years later Italy founded their soccer association. The countries that established their presence in the field of soccer include Germany and Uruguay in 1900, Hungary in 1901 and Finland in 1907.

Soccer was formally introduced as an Olympic sport in the 1900 Olympics. In 1904, Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) was founded in Paris. Initially, it had only seven founder member countries. They were Belgium, France, Netherlands Denmark, Sweden, Spain and Switzerland. In the 21st century, there are as many as 204 members in FIFA.

The first organization that came up with the rules for football were, Cambridge University. They were the first to came up with the first set of rules (in 1848), and these rules were known as the Cambridge rules.The Cambridge Rules were a code of football rules first drawn up at Cambridge University England, in 1848. They are also notable for allowing goal kicks, throw-ins, and forward passes and for preventing running whilst holding the ball. These rules influenced the development of Association football Australian rules football, and subsequent code citation needed. In 1863, a revision of the rules played a significant part in developing the rules that became Association football.

WHY?

To make football a fair game and not make it savage and wild. Also to lessen the injuries and make it a happy and fun game rather than stressing sad fighting game.

Sixty countries play football as their national sport.

Football is very challenging, this is because you get to compete with an opposite team maybe bigger strength and maybe not. Also because some or a lot of difficulties you face in the game which cause you to challenge your way out.

Football is also exciting, this is because you get to show off in front of your friends and let all the energy out of your body and also because you take time out and get to move.

Football also takes some skill and talent, both physically and emotionally. Physically is by running and movement and position but emotionally is by controlling your body and not stress out if loosing.

The last and the most popular one too, is that some people just like the opportunity to be a star and win. It feels so good to win and everyone likes to win so by playing football you can win and release your stress.

Soccer is popular all over the world. There are many reasons for this. One of the reasons is that on its most basic level, it is an easy sport to understand. As a fan comes to understand the sport, though, the person can appreciate the sport on a more complex level. This allows anyone from the sports reluctant to the person who has been interested in sports for years the opportunity to enjoy the sport. One soccer's most basic level, two teams are competing against each other to get the ball into the other team's net. On a more complex level, soccer is both mental and physical. It's about reading your opponents. It's about knowing before your opponent moves which direction your opponent is going to move. It's about seeing the big picture and knowing where the ball is going to be next

Soccer's about skill. When shooting a goal, the players have to know where and how hard the ball has to be shot so that the goalie (or anyone else) will not get to the ball before it hit's the net. Sometimes, though, it's also about those lucky shot, the ones that come from an awkward angle or a long distance and yet somehow still make it in the net. Fans love those. Players love those (unless it's the team that got shot on). They just add to the greatness and popularity of the sport. Those replays are priceless

PLAYING,OR STYLES,OF FOOTBALL IN DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE WORLD?

There are different ways of playing soccer in different parts of the world.

In the Middle East / Asia football is just scoring and nothing else, winning is very important.

In Europe football is very stylish and players like to show off and do a couple of tricks before scoring.

In the USA, Argentina, Brazil etc. Players play soccer in a very modern way and take football to an all new level. Dribbling, shooting and passing are all in style and accuracy. Players also understand each other very well which higher the level of play and style.
