resources just to make it as attractive and informative as possible. In addition, she also wrote and edited articles for submission to the Philippine Rotary Magazine for which, the District was awarded the 2nd most number of articles submitted by the Districts in the Philippines. The GML is the Governor's means of informing our fellow Rotarians of the ongoing happenings in the District and I thank all those who contributed articles about their club activities and announcements. Without them it will not be as comprehensive as I intended it to be.
RY 2012-2013 was a year of Action and Innovation. We set our goals early on and reached them. We developed new ways of doing things and some were successful and I hope the our future leaders will adopt them. As we say in Rotary, "The best is yet to come" and the Peace Builder team did their best.
Personally, I am most fulfilled and contented. I am happy leaving the office of the District Governor because I know did my best.
Spouse Glo and I would like to express our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all the Rotarians and spouses in District 3800 for their whole-hearted support in making 2012-2013 a great year for all of us.
Yours in Rotary Service,
Peace Builder Governor Lirio Sandoval
Dear Fellow Rotarians, In this final edition of the Governor's Monthly letter for RY 2012-2013, your Governor can only express his gratitude and thanks to all those who made this "Peace Through Service" year of service a significant one. First and foremost, I thank our Editor-in-Chief, PP Carla Dejeres and her staff, for all their work in putting out the GML regularly and using varied

District Handover is approaching and this is the last important and memorable event for the Peace Builder Team . The Peace Builder Presidents and Secretaries should do their best in helping the First Class Presidents and Secretaries for their preparations in the next Rotary Year. The Peace Builder Team should also encourage everybody in attending the District Handover. Likewise , all the Peace Builder District Officers should show their support to the First Class District Officers, especially to the Assistant Governors. The need for the outgoing Assistant Governors to orient the Incoming Assis-tant Governors is vital to the District Operations. This will guide The First Class Team in the right directions of all the Rotary Clubs. The Peace Builder Presidents and Secretaries should do their best in the process of turning over the admin-istration of their clubs so that the First Class Presidents and Secretaries will have better way of planning and prepar-ing for the next rotary year. Using the Club Officers Kits will help a lot to them and even to the other important officers in the clubs. Allow me now to congratulate all the Peace Builder Presidents and their teams for the job well done in our term. The same congratulations is extended to all fellow outgoing district officers who provided all the support need-ed by the clubs and our district. As the Secretary General of our district, my thanks and greatful appreciation goes to all and it was a wonderful and fulfilling experience working with you , especially when all the people are coopera-tive to the District Secretariat. Finally, I would like to thank our boss , Peace Builder Governor LIrio Sandoval , for giving me the opportunity to serve the district in an important role that gave me the challenge to widen the scope of serving mankind and improv-ing the lives in the community at the district level. Spouse Tess and I are very much greatful , as well , to work with the First Couple, Gov Lirio and Lady Glo, of the Peace Builder Team in the successful administration of District 3800 for the Rotary year 2012-13. Mabuhay to the Peace Builder Team! More Power to District 3800! IMPORTANT DATE TO REMEMBER : District Handover 2013 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Mandaluyong City on June 29, 2013 at 7pm to be hosted by the Rotary Club of Suburban East Rizal

It was an Awards Night like no other. The Rotary International Dis-trict 3800 has outdone itself again in its yearly award-giving event, this time hosted by the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Central (RCMC). An evening full of class and pageantry, it was truly a program fit for the much-respected and applauded awardees.
It was one of the well attended awards nights of the District where vibrant Rotarians and radiant spouses and guests gathered all dressed to the nines. As the song goes…. 525,600 minutes, how do you measure a year in the life…. of a Rotarian that is, in service, in pro-jects, in leading a Club?
Despite the uncooperative weather and the roads being jammed with the usual Friday night rush hour traffic, the awards night unfolded as planned, and contin-gencies were set into play. Just upon entering the William J. Shaw Pavilion at the sprawling greens of Wack-Wack Golf & Country Club, guests were met by the classy broadway-inspired photo wall cour-tesy of Irene Gallardo, spouse of PE Gerald Gallardo, and the beauti-ful floral archway and “cherry blos-soms” on stage by Rotarian Tess Tuazon and PP George Capili.
BIG WINNERS ALL AT THE DISTRICT AWARDS NIGHT!!!
By Rotarian Alan Biason and Spouse Helen Buencamino RC Mandaluyong Central
With the commanding and con-fident voice of PP Atty. Jun Vir-tudazo as emcee leading the pro-ceedings, the golf awards were given by the Federation before the main program went underway, and as the initial wave of guests were finishing with their sumptuous din-ner. This was followed by the for-mal opening of the event by DG Lirio P. Sandoval, complete with the ringing of the ceremonial Rota-ry bell for the Call to Order.
To bless the evening and as an apt start to the program, the Doxology and National Anthem was sung, led by no less than RCMC’s own Ensem-ble. This was followed by the warm Welcome Remarks of PP Victor R. Buencamino to further set the exciting mood of the evening, and the Intro-duction of Guests & Roll Call by SG Augusto C. Soliman. With all ears listening eagerly, DG Lirio P. Sando-val gave his Governor’s Message next.
To add suspense before the initial awards were given, a lively and dy-namic surprise dance medley inter-mission number was presented by the Visionary Presidents and Spouses, capped with the very modern “Gentleman” song by Korean Pop Star Psy. Plaques of Appreciation were then given to the District officers by LTG Adriel A. Bersola, followed by Club Hosting Awards, Spouses Exec-utive & Working Committee Awards, Distinguished Service Awards, and RI Spouse/Partner Service Award.

To break the monotony, before more awards were given, the RCMC Ensem-ble rendered an intermission song num-ber, which was a combination of mod-ern “Pipit” and “Unchained Melody” with a twist. Immediately afterwards, the rest of the District & RI Awards were given out from the Top 4 Best in E-Bulletin all the way to the final award, the R.I. Presidential Citation.

(...continued from page 3) evening, DG Lirio P. Sandoval adjourned the wonderful event and this was followed by the customary singing of the Peace Builder song. Of course, what better way to cap an Awards Night than to follow it with fellowship coupled with an en-ergetic live band, with RCMC’s very own LTG Adriel Bersola beating away to the drum-beat of various decades of best-loved rock and dance music, and more!

We would like to thank every-body for coming, and for your solid support. The teams that helped organize this event, and especially to DG Lirio’s big heart, and trust in giving us the honor of hosting this prestigious event! Mabuhay po! God bless you Gov. and DGL Glo! Indeed celebrating the achieve-ments of this Rotary year entailed a lot of sweat and sacrifices. We salute you! All of us are BIG WIN-NERS! With the occasion, each one of us achieved success, excel-lence – in a distinguished and classy way! We give back this honor to God and everything we do. We give Him our first and our best. So as we start this new day, let us give it to Him.
As the program neared the end, Pres. George Capili of RCMC gave his very concise and distinct Closing Remarks which appropriately summarized a well-implemented Awards Night, noth-ing short of a sharp, precise and well-executed military action plan, which was apt to his Air Force repute.
