F I N D Y O U R S E L F H E R EChristian values, rooted in a Church of Christ heritage,

are at the HEART of each academic pursuit and SPIRITUAL JOURNEY at Pepperdine.

MORE THAN A TRADITIONAL CHAPEL PROGRAM Pepperdine’s Convocation Series serves as a platform for regular assemblies of the Pepperdine student body to gather to WORSHIP and EXPLORE faith through engaging speakers, small group settings, and one-on-one spiritual mentorships. With over 150 programs each semester, students discover how they can make a difference in this world, while also earning credit to fulfill the Convocation requirement.

SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE EACH STEP OF THE WAY Spiritual Life Advisors are peer-ministers that live in the on-campus residence halls with first-year and second-year students, acting as spiritual leaders and caring for residents’ emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being.

WHERE FAITH AND LEARNING MEET As a Christian university, faith and learning are integrated into the classroom experience through the general education curriculum of Seaver College. As a student you will participate in a three-course series called Christianity and Culture wherein you will learn about the Old and New Testaments from a historical perspective, followed by a self-selected Christian topical course.

Students, when they arrive here, aren’t necessarily at the same place spiritually. Some people have gone to church their whole lives, while others have never opened up a Bible. Pepperdine does a great job of providing so many DIVERSE OPPORTUNITIES and being willing to meet you where you are spiritually, to walk with you and move you forward. I have found Pepperdine to be a true community.”

PEPPERDINE’S AFFILIATION WITH CHURCHES OF CHRIST

Pepperdine keeps a vital affiliation with Churches of Christ of which its founder, George Pepperdine, was an elder and lifelong member. That affiliation is maintained today through policy and government; through regular recruitment of students, faculty, and staff from within Church of Christ fellowships; and through the office and activities of Church Relations.

RESPECT FOR ALL FAITHS

Students, faculty, and staff members of all faith traditions are welcome to become part of the Pepperdine University community. God’s truth as revealed in both the observable and invisible worlds is universal and nonnegotiable, and an individual’s pursuit of that truth is respected and honored.

For over 50 years its members have been primary contributors to scholarships for Christian students and have forged a strong link between the University and Churches of Christ across the country. The AWP Scholarship Committee awards a select number of $5,000 scholarships annually on a renewable basis to active members from Churches of Christ. In order to renew the AWP scholarship, a student must reapply each year. Male and female students are both eligible.
