The following example might help:

I One reason that the Zefirelli movie is better than Luhrman’s movie is that

Zefirelli’s movie is more romantic.

A. In Zefirellis’s movie the romance between Romeo and Juliet is the focus of the

action.

Most of the movie is dedicated to the relationship between Romeo and Juliet. For

example, the scene where they meet and the balcony scene are both very long and

drawn out.

B. In Luhman’s movie violence plays a much bigger role in the action.

The scenes of violence between the Capulets and the Montagues are very violent

and take a central role in the movie. The use of guns by so many of the charactersmakes the fights more serious.

C. I believe that Zefirelli’s version more accurately portrays Shakespeare’s play

than Luhrman’s movie.

While Shakespeare wanted to show the effects of feuds, his intent was to portray

the passion of yourng romance. After all, the play is called “The Tragedy of

Romeo and Juliet” not “The Tragedy of the Capulets and the Montagues>”

That’s it. Complete this for your return next week. Let’s assume it will be Monday.
