surrounded by hills of rocky
outcrop which gives protection

ChronologyThe architecture and pottery evidence
associated to the site allow us to date itrelatively. The
pottery around
corresponds to the Late Intermediate
Period or Kingdoms and Dominions for
the years 1100-1400 AD, during which
there were several kingdoms in this area,such as Colla, Cana,
Carangas Lupaqa,
Pacajes Canchis Chumbivilcas and
Collaguas. Salcedo belonged to the
manor Lupaqa. The importance and
wealth of this kingdom are reflected in
the official visit of the king made the
Garci Diez de San Miguel 1567 year,
which accounts for the wealth and forms
of social organization of the Lupaqa.

The number of figures in the top issmaller in relation to the
panels.In this case we considered the
"frame" of the representation, ie
the natural rock that has beenadapted to the figures. We can
saythat includes nine figures, fourcamels, four
anthropomorphicfigures and a figure that skirts by
way of landscape, which is shapedlike three hills. The figures
in thissection are in a naturalistic way,and its size and
orientation alsovaries (Fig. 4).

Figures are scattered in
different parts of the rock, butbear a relation to the panelsand
the scene depicted. Itconsists of 16 figures, seven of
nine anthropomorphiccamelids, varying in size,orientation (Fig.
6). The totalfigures shown is 85, 41 of
which are zoomorphic (camels)and the remaining
44anthropomorphic.
