Apply for a Federal Student Aid ID fsaid.ed.gov A FSA ID is comprised of a username and password and can be used to login to certain Federal Student Aid websites, such as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)2. Complete the FAFSA www.fafsa.ed.gov Applicants must have filed their current taxes in order to complete the FAFSA application. Applications submitted electronically are processed in a much shorter time-period than those submitted by mail. Your PIN is required for electronic filing. Troy University’s school code is 001047. It is recommended that you utilize the IRS Data Retrieval tool in order to ensure your income information is appropriately entered into the FAFSA.3. Student Planning Registration Instructions
1. Navigate to my.troy.edu. If you already know your user ID and password, continue to “b.” a. Select Students and then click on “What’s my TrojanPass ID?” Enter your last name and SSN or ID number, click submit, and write down your user ID. b. Navigate to https://login.microsoft.com. c. Enter your user ID + @troy.edu (for example, [email protected]) d. If you have already logged in before, enter your password. If you have not yet logged in, your initial password is as follows: first letter of your first name (capitalized), the first letter of your last name (lowercase), and your 8-digit birthdate (mmddyyyy Ex. Ab01231999). e. You must change your password and you will be prompted for additional information (alternate email address and security questions). Please follow the guidelines on the screen.
2. Once you have finished the login process, navigate to my.troy.edu.
3. Scroll down and click Self-Service on the 3rd row of boxes and then Student Planning.
4. Find “Search for courses…” at the top of the screen and type the first course for which you would like to register with no spaces (ex. MTH1112).
5. Look for your course number (ex: MTH 1112), and then click Add Course to Plan. Select your term or semester from the drop-down box. Click Add Course to Plan again.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each course for which you would like to register.
7. Click Student Planning at the top of the page and then click Plan & Schedule. Use the arrows (< >) to navigate to the term or semester.
8. Click View other sections under your first course. Find a section that fits in your schedule, click on the yellow course block, and then click Add Section. There may be multiple pages of course section options. The section must be YELLOW, not RED (red courses are full/closed).
9. Repeat steps 7 and 8.
10. Click Register Now in the upper right corner of the screen. Click OK to accept the terms.
11. All courses should turn GREEN and you will have completed your registration. If any remain yellow, contact your advisor or the Records office.

The Proficiency Profile TestThe Proficiency Profile Test can be administered in two and a half hours. The information is ob-tained to measure the students’ academic skills in the general studies area. Associates take the test after completion of 48 hours and prior to graduation (exit exam), and bachelors 60-89 hours, during the junior year. Assessment results are used to fulfill a SACS requirement for accreditation and are important to ensure credibility of a diploma earned through Troy University.

ACCUPLACER (Math & English Placement Test)Undergraduate students who wish to enroll in Math or English courses must take the ACCUPLAC-ER test prior to registering. Please go to http://trojan.troy.edu/online/testing/accuplacerexam.html to register. Please allow 72 hours to process your request. *Photo ID is required.
Major Field AchievementTest (MFAT): Business/Management & Criminal JusticeAny student seeking a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a Business Program MUST take the MFAT the term they register for their capstone course (BUS 3310, BUS 4476, and CJ 4499). Stu-dents will NOT be allowed to graduate if they do not take the MFAT. TROY Online students must register to take this exam by going to http://trojan.troy.edu/online/testing/mfatmapp.html. Testing dates are determined by the instructor. *Photo ID is required.

ID cards are mandatory for all students. In order to receive an ID card or to update an existing card, students must show their current registration form.
Student ID cards are lifetime cards and should not be destroyed. A replacement fee of $15 will be charged for student ID cards.

Comprehensive ExamsStudents admitted into a graduate program requiring a comprehensive exam must pass the required exam prior to graduating. Students should consult Barbara Sanders at [email protected] regarding procedures for scheduling and taking the comprehensive exam. This test is generally taken the last semester/term prior to graduation. If a student fails the comprehensive exam, they must successfully retake the exam within one year of the date originally taken. *Photo ID is required.

Graduate Student Testing
Students are responsible for all tuition and fees regardless of their source of assistance. If financial aid is approved, it is applied to student accounts after late registration ends each term. Any balance not covered by financial aid, tuition assistance, employer benefits, scholarships, VA benefits, or similar, is the student’s responsibility.
Students who register for courses and do not officially drop/withdraw from the university are held responsible for all tuition and fees. Non-attendance is not considered an official drop/withdraw.

RefundsTo receive your refund from Troy, you must activate your refund preference with BankMobile.Be on the lookout for your BankMobile Personal Code for refund selection. You can receive your personal code to the mailing address that you have on file with Troy or to your Trojan email ac-count. Once it arrives, simply follow these steps to make your refund preference selection:
1. Visit Refundselection.com2. Enter your personal code3. Select how you want your money delivered
Your options for receiving your refunds are:
Deposit to an existing account Money is transferred to an existing account the same business day BankMobile receives funds from Troy. Typically, it takes 1-2 business days for the receiving bank to credit the money to your account.
Deposit to a BankMobile Vibe Checking Account If you open a BankMobile Vibe checking account (upon identity verification), money is deposited the same business day BankMobile receives funds from Troy.
PaymentsPayment of fees may be made online with Trojan Web Express or at Student Financial Services. Troy University accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, money orders, checks, and cash.

Term payment due dates fall around the fourth week of class. Student accounts with a remaining balance after the payment due date are charged a $50 late fee. Failure to satisfy financial obligations to the University will result in having a restriction placed on future class registrations, possible hav-ing the account assigned to a collection agency, and non-release of transcripts and diploma. Also note, a current semester or term debt must be paid-in-full before a student will be allowed to register during registration dates that occur prior to the payment due date.
Past Due Accounts
All financial or other obligations to the University must be cleared prior to the end of each semester or term. An outstanding balance for a prior semester or term must be paid before the student will be allowed to register for subsequent semesters or terms. Failure to satisfy financial obligations to the University will result in having a restriction placed on future class registrations, transcripts, and/or diploma.
Delinquent student accounts may be reported to a credit bureau and referred to collection agencies or litigated. Students will agree to pay any and all costs associated with collection of unpaid fees including any/all collection agency fees (33.33%), attorney fees, and/or court costs, if such be necessary.
Drop/WithdrawalSchedule
Dropping or withdrawing during the first week of the term is free (no financial penalty is incurred). The following represents the drop/withdrawal schedule for term/location indicated by course loca-tion:
