Lambda technology uses three lasers (RGB – red, green and blue)
merged into one beam, your images are exposed to photosensitive
materials before being traditionally ‘wet’ processed in much the same
manner as traditional photographic printing. To increase the archival
stability of your images, our processor includes three wash tanks
rather than the standard two.
We only use the highest grade archival materials to produce your
digital c-type prints and carry stock of Fuji Crystal Archive papers in
traditional Matte, Gloss, Super Gloss, Transparency films (commonly
known as Duratrans or Fujitrans) and Fuji Pearl papers. Each paper
offers the tactility of a traditional photograph but with all of the
benefits of digital control.

When we’re working with your best work, we think it’s only right
to give you the best service and direct access to our expert
team of printers. Our Giclée Fine Art Prints are archival grade,
digital prints with an exceptional colour and vibrancy.
Derived from the French word, “gicler”, which literally translates
as “to squirt” or ‘”spray” (inspired by the way that the printer
nozzle applies the ink pigments to the paper), the term ‘Giclée’
was coined to describe inkjet printing in the early nineties and
has remained a description for inkjet printing ever since.
The inks used in our Giclée printer are light-fast to an excep-
tional standard and specially designed to be used with our
high-grade archival papers. We stock a wide selection of
archival Hahnemühle and Somerset papers - each provides a
different tactility, texture and effect to the final piece. We can
also print on other papers by request.
Giclée printing offers vivid colours unparalleled by traditional
photographic prints, however, we are also able to produce
true-tone black and white images using the same process.

ChromaLuxe printing uses a process called ‘dye sublimation’ to fuse images on to metal. The term ‘sublimation’ describes the transi-
tion of a substance directly from the solid to the gas phase without becoming a liquid first.
Your image or artwork is first printed as a Giclee print on to transfer paper using dye sublimation inks, which consist of a solid and
heat intensive dye. This is then applied to a specially coated 1.2mm aluminium panel. Using both heat and pressure, the dye particles
change into a gas, bond with the polymers in the aluminium, and then change back into a solid state; fusing the image and aluminium
together.
