Zoom Tool• Used to enlarge and reduce the image on your

CROP TOOL

• Cropping an image is a basic task in which you define an area of an image that you want to keep and then discard the remainder of the image.

• Two ways to CROP– Image>Crop– Use the Crop Tool

To cancel the crop, hit ESC.

UNDO

• Three ways to UNDO an action– CTRL + Z– File, Revert– History Panel

Resolution

• A bitmap graphic is a graphic composed of pixels. The word pixel is derived from the words picture and element. A bitmap image is a grid of pixels.

• Photoshop images are bitmap graphics.• Resolution is a measurement: the number of

pixels per inch (ppi).

Image Size and File Size

• Image Size refers to the physical dimensions of the image – width and height.– 8 x 10– 5 x 7

• File Size refers to how big the file is in computer memory – how much storage space it takes up on your computer– 42 MB (megabytes)
