Phrasal Verb คืออะไร?

Phrasal verb หรอื กรยิาวลี คือ การใชค้ำากรยิามาประกอบกับ preposition หรอื particle แล้วทำาใหเ้กิดความหมายใหมข่ึ้นมาซึ่งอาจจะไมม่เีค้าความหมายของคำากรยิาเดิมเลย

หลักการใช ้Phrasal Verbs

1.เมื่อไมม่ ีdirect object ต้องวาง adverb ไวติ้ดกับ verb เชน่ - please come in.   - Don't give up, whatever happens.2. เมื่อม ีobject pronoun เชน่ him, her, it, them, me, us, เป็น direct object ต้องวาง object เหล่านี้ไวห้น้า adverb เชน่   - I can't make it out. ()   - I can't make out it.()

3. เมื่อม ีnoun เชน่ book , pen , houses , etc. เป็น direct object จะวาง noun ไว้หน้าหรอืหลัง adverb ก็ได้ เชน่   - Turn on the light. () - Turn the light on. ()4. ถ้า object เป็นคำายาว เชน่ม ีobject clause ขยายต้องวางobject ไวห้ลัง adverb เชน่   - He gave away every book that he possessed. ()   - He gave every book that he possessed away. ()

1. Inseparable Verbs with no objects  คือ phrasal verb ท่ีต้องติดกัน ไม่สามารถแยกจากกันได้ ไมต้่องมกีรรม เชน่   Set off = ออกเดินทาง         Speed up = เรง่ความเรว็   Wake up = ต่ืนนอน            Stand up = ยนืขึ้น   Come in = เขา้มาถึง           Get on = ขึ้น (รถ) / เขา้กันได้   Carry on = ทำาต่อไป           Find out = เรยีนรู้   Grow up = เติบโต             Turn up = ปรากฏตัว

Inseparable Verbs with objects คือ phrasal verb ท่ีต้องอยูติ่ดกัน ไมส่ามารถแยกจากกันได้ แต่ต้องมกีรรม เชน่   Look after = เล้ียงด ู                       Look into = สอบถาม, ตรวจสอบ   Run into = ชน                              Come across = พบโดยบงัเอิญ   Take after = เหมอืน, เจรญิรอยตาม     Deal with = ติดต่อ, เก่ียวขอ้ง   Go off = ออกไป, จากไป, หยุดทำางาน   Cope with = จดัการ

3. Separable verbs คือ ท่ีแยกจากกันได้ มกัจะต้องการกรรม   Turn on = เปิด (ไฟ)           Turn off = ปิด (ไฟ)   Turn down = หรี ่(เสยีง)     Switch off = ปิด   Look up = มองหา             Take off = ถอด, ออกเดินทาง

Three-Word Phrasal Verbs  คือ phrasal verb ท่ีไมม่กีรรมและบางครัง้มกีารใช้บุพบทมากกวา่ 1 ตัว เชน่   Get on with = ทำาต่อไป, ไมห่ยุด              Cut down on = ลดปรมิาณลง   Look out for = เตรยีมพรอ้ม                  Catch up with = ตามทัน   Run out of = หมด                              Get down to = เอาจรงิเอาจงั   Stand up for = ปกป้อง, เดือดรอ้นแทน     Look down to = ดถูกู   Look up to = ยอมรบันับถือ                   Put up with = อดทน   Look out on = มองออกไป
