PIANO PROFICIENCY TESTS & RE-TESTS 2016-2017 (updated 9/23/16) All Keyboard Skills information is available on the College of Music website, http://www.music.unt.edu/piano, click on “Proficiency.” THREE WAYS OF TAKING YOUR PIANO PROFICIENCY EXAM: 1. Enroll in MUAG 1014 or MUAS 3523 (Functional Piano requires approval). The Piano Proficiency exam is administered as part of this course. Each of the seven areas is tested separately. 2. Open Testing: Open testing is primarily available for those not enrolled in the above courses and is held at 10:00 A.M. in Music Annex room 117 on the following dates for the 2016-2017 school-year: Jan 11, 2017 June 9, 2017 July 6, 2017 Aug. 17, 2017 3. Special or Emergency Testing: All other testing and re-testing (special, “emergency,” etc.) are by individual appointment arranged with Dr. Andrew Lloyd ([email protected]) with the following provisions: Guidelines when Re-Testing by special appointment: a. A MAXIMUM of three proficiency items may be re-tested at the same appointment. b. Testing of a complete proficiency in this special arrangement will require two appointments. c. No such tests will be conducted during Final Exam Week, Jury Week or between semesters. d. All special and “emergency" testing outside of registration will require an auditor’s fee of $35 per session.
