PAL Sales Inc.‘s barrel blow-down system oper- ates when the barrel is lifted out of the process solution. At the top of the lift movement, air from transporter-mounted low-pressure fans enters through the upper opening of the barrel and is directed through the workload to the lower open- ing. This air stream increases the solution drain- ing from the barrel, resulting in a significant re- duction of in-process chemicals, water, and effluent chemical requirements.
