Universitatea “Lucian Blaga” is structured into:

-11 faculties run by: faculty councils, dean, vice-deans and scientific

secretaries each with specific responsibilities

-Chair – basic structural unit of the Faculty, carrying out educational

and research activities; run by a Board made up of a Chairperson an

at least two other members, elected from among the full-time

teaching staff of the Chair.

-Department – academic unit subordinated to the University or, wherever the case, to a Faculty, and it carries out educational,

research, design and production activities.

-Research Centre – a unit whose objective is research activity-other functional structures relevant for the research activity, for

cooperation with national and international research and academic

institutions, for book publishing, for administrative services, human

resources, financial-accounting services, etc.

lectures: teaching-learning activities, mainly theoretical, organized for a study year-seminars: practical, interactive activities meant to further develop and clarify the concepts delivered at the lecture; organized for study groups;-laboratories: activities undertaken in specialized laboratories, whose aim is to develop students` practical abilities by direct interaction with equipment, apparata, and tools; commonly organized for study sub-groups-projects: applied activities meant to encourage individual study and develop practical and research skills, under the supervision of a member of the teaching staff; organized for sub-groups

How do I read the schedule?

Universitatea “Lucian Blaga” din Sibiu

-it is governed by the University Charter – a document setting forth the

University mission, its academic principles, objectives, structure and

organization;

-it is staffed by teaching staff (tenured professors, visiting professors,

professors emeriti), research staff, administrative staff,

undergraduate and postgraduate students

ULBS, makes decisions regarding the members of the academic

community, sets forth proposals addressed to the Ministry of

Education, Research and Innovation and regularly assesses the

activity of ULBS` components units.

university, proposes priority actions and represents the university in its relationships with individuals or legal entities outside the university,

with national or international universities and institutions. The rector

submits his entire activity to be analyzed by the University Senate.
