PraisetheLordforthemanynewopportunitiesHehasgivenus.SukeshPabarireturnshomefromKenyathismonthtotakeupapastorateinClevedon.WearecurrentlyprintingfournewbookshetranslatedintoSwahiliwithtwomorere‐prints.HehopestocontinuetheworkinKangwangwarewithtripsabroadasacaretakerofthiswork.Overthirtybookshavebeenprintedandarebeingdistributed.Whenwesay“distributed”,wehavelearnedthatonebookisontheRadioinTanzania.WehavesupportedStephenNowakinhistrainingvisitstoTanzaniawithnearon20,000ofSukesh’sSwahilibooks.OnStephen’srecentvisittotheMbeyaregionhefoundthatonepastorwasusingaSwahilibookreceivedpreviously,onaregularradioslot,whereeachweekhereadsachapterofJohnPiper’s“50ReasonsWhyChristCametoDie”andmakescommentsonit.With50chaptersthisgiveshimmaterialforoneyear.SotheLordismultiplyingthebreadagain.
Recently,PastorRobinreturnedfromPakistanwheretheLordopenedmanydoorsforthegospel.TheLord
allowedhimtopreachinthreedifferentchurches,speakatoneBiblecollege,visittwolibraries,and
distribute500Urducopiesof“FoundationofChristianFaith”with4000leaflets.Thedifficultiesand
persecutionofChristiansinPakistanarewellknown,yetRobinfoundgreathumilityandhungerforGod's
word.PrayforboldnessforPakistaniChristianstoreachouttoMuslimsandtrustinHimwhoisabletosave
theirsouls.Thereisagreatneedforcommentariesandtopicalbooks.InonechurchRobinsays:”Iwas
askedtospeakrightattheendoftheserviceandItook50copiesofFOCFinUrdu.BythetimeIcameout
ofthechurchmostofthemweregone.”Theeffectofsincanbeseen.Duringthevisitawomenwas
stonedtodeathbyherfamilymembers,asuicidebombkilledtwoarmyofficers,therewasthekillingof
Shia'sMuslims,andanattackonKarachiairport.Notall
thesethingsreachournews.Robinisgratefultothose
whoprayedforhim.Hewashopingtobringhismotherto
theUKduetoherpoorhealth,buttheyhavenotbeen
abletoobtainavisa.

OurChairman,Jeremy,justgotbackfromanendofyearconferencewithGarryWilliamsinNis,Serbia,attheBalkansTheologicalSeminary,whichwasestablishedin2013.ThosewhoknowthebrethreninSerbiawillhaveheardofSimoRalevicandhisbrothers.Simo'sstory,howhesurvivedunderthecommunistregime,andhowhisfamilycametoknowtheLord,andthenstartedtranslatingandpublishinghundredsofReformedbooksandevangelisticmaterial,isanamazingoneofpraisetotheLord.JeremyhasknownSimofromboyhoodwhenhisfather(JohnMarshall)usedtotakethefamily'biblesmuggling'fortheirfamilyholidays.ThisvisitwastheculminationofmanydreamstoestablishasuitabletrainingcollegeforstudentsandpastorslivingintheBalkanregion.
RogerWeil'sbook"FoundationsoftheChristianfaith",and"KnowingGod"byPackerhavejustbeenpublishedinSerbian,andweredistributed.
GarryWilliamslecturedfortwodaysto10students(whoarebeginningtrainingfortheministry)plusabout30‐40otherswholistenedin.Mostseminarystudentsinanycontextarekeentolearn,butitwasapleasure,andaprivilegetoteachmensoobviouslyhungryforGod'sword,andinacontextwherethereissolittleofit.
Therewereapproaching21/2hoursofQandAwithlotsofgoodquestions,whichisalwaysasignofrealengagementandthinking.Peoplecomefromquitefar.TherewereanumberofstudentsandattendeesfromMacedoniainparticular.ThenewlyrefurbishedbuildingsinthecentreofNis(thesecondcityofSerbia)allowstudentstostayovernightandeatonsite.Thelibrary,whichwastiny,ismuchexpandedwitholdandnewbooksontheologyinbothSerbianandEnglish,manysuppliedbyCBW.Garryhelpedwiththesyllabusfornextyear.
TheBalkansregionissoneedyspirituallyandmaterially,andtheworkofthisfledglingseminaryislikeasmallseedthatweshouldpraywillgrowintoastrongtree.
