As a songwriter I have also written prose and poetry. This is a book of those poems and prose chosen from different times in my life. These writings were the result of experiences that often had an inspirational effect on me. They were written from sadness and loss, heartache and fear, love and learning, good times and bad - thoughts and feelings we often get from life as it unfolds around us.

you live your life

you live your lifeand try to be brave,

and face it all with skill anddetermination

you live your lifeand try to find whatmakes you grow,

so you can open your heart and improve your mind

you live your lifelearning to acceptdefeat only as a

temporary setback,you try to be happy

despite the odds

you live your lifeknowing that

you are only human, and that you have a right

to live your life the way you want

to live it

itʼs all in your head

itʼs all in your head,stupid and crazy things,

great and noble thoughts,you can choose the

ones you wantbecause they areonly there for you

itʼs all in your head,weʼre all conditioned

by the world we live in,you need to break the chains

that hold you back, and do whatever it takes

to make your life a work of art

itʼs all in your headand mirrored in realityis the world you create

in your mind,harmony on the inside

equals harmony on the outside

are you kind to yourself today?if the answer is no

then why not?

why treat yourselfto negative thinking or

anything to loseyour self-esteem?

you are what you are because of nobody but yourself,

your contentmentgrows or fallsdepending onyour outlook

on life

focus on whatʼs going well in your life,

be kind to yourselfand others,

everyone deserves to find happiness

itʼs the morning

itʼs the morningand the city comes alive, you can hear the clash of

plates and forks and knives,breakfast is served

and off to work,another day begins, to build and learnand think and do

itʼs the morningand today you can

change your life to make it go

where you want it to go, you can be

happy now or live for tomorrow

itʼs the morningand in your mindyou can visualize what kind of day you want to live,

everything you believeyou can do, you can do

one can only

one can onlyplan the way

to go for so long, the outcome depends

on doing whatʼs necessary for attaining

oneʼs goals

one can only try and persevere, nothing guaranteesa goalʼs success,the only thing that

you can do is put forth your greatest

effort in trying toachieve it

one can only attempt to do what

is in your head to do, if you fail and it never

comes to be,the worst thing

is that you donʼt win and you lose,

the best thing is you can try again

you never know

you never knowwhen itʼs going

to knock,when itʼs your

time on the clock

you never know how the day will end,

so donʼt wander in the past or find refuge in the future,

live in the present, because you donʼt need part of you here and now,

you need all of youhere and now

to succeed in life

you never knowyour destiny or what

will happen tomorrow, one day itʼs all over

and itʼs your last dying breath,

and if you knew the day your life was to end,would you change

one thing?

take long enough

take long enoughand things

work themselves out,get figured out and sort themselves out

take long enoughand it all works out,

you get past the doubtsand then the truth

comes out

take long enoughand you find your way,past all the hard work

and worry and suffering,to live your dream andfind your purpose in life

take long enoughand you see it through,

stay focused and believe in yourself,

luck can help and money too, but in the end

itʼs all up to you

flow, flow with the tide

flow, flow with the tide,take life as it comes,

donʼt give upwhen you lose a battle,

what matters most is that you have learned the lesson

and moved on

flow, flow with the tide, and live your lifethe best you can, try your hardestto understand,

that all you want maynot come to be

flow, flow with the tide, and if you persistand never let go,youʼll reach the

land of your dreamsand live the life

you were meant to know

flow, flow with the tide,for like the moon and

stars at night,we all possess an inner light

mother and child

the gift of life

the children are our bread,

they are a reflection of ourselves,

everyone has a childinside of them,

they are the future

the young are our dreams,

they are our shining lightthrough the darkness

the old are our bread and wine,

they are the wisdomin our lives,

they are the sunsetof our existence

the Earth is our planet,

and in the world life is our gift,

the most beautiful gift of all

take it easy on yourself

take it easy on yourself,donʼt make it hard

to be yourself,know when to cool itand when to relax

take it easy on yourself,and believe in yourself the next time you think

you canʼt dance the dance,you deserve to be happy

take it easy on yourself,sometimes youʼve got to be

your own best friend,itʼs often a cruel and

incomprehensible world,so be kind to yourself

take it easy on yourself, and donʼt give up on

believing you canmake it a better life

for you and the ones you love

are we notthe sands of time,

the seeds ofwonder and

the words of rhyme?

are we notenthralled by the childwho laughs and cries,

who risks it all and stumbles and falls,

trying to catch a butterfly?

are we notforever in awe

of cloud and windthat change the sky,and turn the warmth

to frost so white,from summerʼs pleasant

days gone by?

are we notthe thoughts we think

behind our eyes, that in a wink

can change oneʼs life,from day to night or truth to lies?

you take your chances

you take your chances and collect your blows,how much time it takes

before you make it,God only knows

you take your chancesand gamble on it all,

how long you survive,if you win or lose,itʼs what they callpaying your dues

you take your chancesand live your life,

sometimes in joyous celebration or in hardship,

conflict and strife,and no one knows

just why

you take your chances,this is your moment so

get it while you can,because everythingyou do has an end

in the final plan

cut looseand let go,

donʼt be afraidto make mistakes,

aim for the the best life you can live, to live it well

is the greatest challenge of all


be who you want to be, and donʼt judge others

for what they are,make being yourselfyour only destination


donʼt let anything stop you from learning what you need to learn,

to get ahead and be in the know

write your song and find the magic

in the chords, until every note rings and it

plays like a symphony

music man,sing till your heart

is full of life, get a girl who loves youand never stop believing

in love and music,they will make your dreams come true

music man,thereʼs a part of your soulthat trembles and cries,

and loves and dies, and thatʼs where all the inspiration lies

music man,may your heartaches and regrets and fears,become sweet music

playing between your ears

we only have

we only haveour thoughts, which are like

raindrops, pick the good ones

if you can

we only haveyears and days and hours and minutes,and then seconds

until itʼs just a momentto live before itʼs gone

we only havewhat we imagine,

fools live forthe next world

without ever knowing that today can be paradise on Earth

we only haveourselves to blame,

if we squander our timeand let life go by unfulfilled,

thereʼs a time to liveand that time is now

canʼt stand the light,stay on the safe side,donʼt let your candle

face the wind

keep it on the trackswhen you take one

below the belt,sometimes it can be

hard to make thewrong things right

keep it on the tracksand youʼll live your yearsin happiness and style,and leave your troublesfar behind all the while,
