Dear All
Happy New Year and welcome to 2018!
I am delighted to announce that we have achieved two prestigious awards in recent weeks.
Firstly we have retained Investors in People Gold. Thank you to everyone for your involvement and contribution to this process.
Secondly we have achieved the Information Advice and Guidance Careers Award. Well done to Mr Davis for all his hard work in achieving this.
We now embark on a particularly busy period at Polesworth. On Thursday 18th January we are holding our Post-16 Information Evening. This is a fantastic opportunity for prospective level 3 students to gain information, to talk to subject specialists and about their experiences in each subject.
We also have the school production – Sister Act – running from the 23rd to the 26th January 2018. This promises to be absolutely brilliant and I would strongly urge you to get your tickets!
On 31st January we also have our Evening of Dance. This will be a fantastic opportunity once again to see the skills and talents of our students on display.

Dear Parents/Carers
Sixth Form Open Evening – Thursday 18th January 2018
The Polesworth School is holding its annual Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday 18th January from 6.00 pm to 8.30
pm. As in previous years the School will be showcasing its achievements to all who are interested, but particularly
to Year 11 students who are considering our Sixth Form for September 2018 and their parents.
As you are probably aware, a large number of students, as well as the majority of the staff, participate in this
hugely important school event. In order to ensure that we are able to present the school in the best possible light
and ensure that those students who wish to are able to participate, we need to close the school at the earlier time
of 1.10 pm.
Arrangements have been made for school buses to arrive at this earlier time except for the 881 service (Newton
Regis), 882 service (Seckington/No Mans Heath, Austrey/Warton) and the 888 service (Baddesley) which will collect
students at the normal time of 3.00 p.m. The 785 bus service will still run as normal but can be picked up earlier;
please refer to the 785 timetable on the Arriva website for earlier times and pick up points.
If you wish your child to remain in school until the usual finish time of 3.00 pm please complete the reply slip
below and return it to Student Services.
Thank you for your support.
Yours sincerely
M Favell
