Building Conservation( Benazir Palace , Bhopal The project was about to find solutions to the problems and issues confronting historic buildings/site. The objectives were: 1. Understanding historic layers of the buildings and site. 2. Demarcation of historic sites and its relationship to surroundings. 3. Understanding the building and composition of building materials. 4. Identification of function, use and condition of the buildings and site. 5. Statement of Significance of historic buildings and site. In order to achieve

the above objectives the project was divided into three levels:

1. City level Study - The city Bhopal was studied

2. Neighborhood Level Study - The Shahjahanbad area was studied

3. Building Level - The Benazir palace was studied

Thesis Project- College of Architecture , New Delhi College of Architecture, New Delhi, INDIA. Year – 2013 Grade- 1st Area- 121405 sq. M Ground Cov-35% FAR- 1.5 Height- 26M Concept: The concept of this design project is Fission and fusion for the initial planning of the building. Area The Planning of the site is done keeping in mind the site planning concepts where- • Physical

resources were accommodated to support strategic academic goals.

• Access was provided to maintain the environmental Quality

• Co-hesive academic community is built

• Center of activity are established to promote campus life.

• Transportation needs were managed proactively to promote the sustainable development practices.

The Site is in Vasant Kunj (New Delhi) INDIA. The site analysis was done by keeping in mind the access point, slope of the site, drainage pattern, soil type, vegetation, foundation, climatic analysis, and wind direction. Passive Cooling Techniques: As the site is located in New Delhi, and has hot and humid climate for most of the year, hence passive cooling techniques were used such as unobstructed zones, landscaping, staggered elevation and shading devices. Software Used: Auto Cad, Google sketch up, V-Ray, Photoshop

Media Center , Bhopal – Madhya Pradesh (INDIA) Year – 2012 Grade- 1st Area- 352140 sq. M Ground Cov-35% FAR- 1.5 Height- 26M Location: The site for the Media Center is located in Bhopal (M.P) INDIA. As the site is on the natural contour. The site analysis was done by keeping in mind the access point, slope of the site, drainage pattern, soil type, vegetation, foundation, climatic analysis, and wind direction. 6

Sustainable Features: The site was situated in Bhopal where composite climate is prevalent, Since the temperature here is high most of the time in a year. Hence passive cooling techniques were used such as- • Staggered

Elevation • Unobstructed

zoning • Landscaping • Shading Devices • Trombe Wall • Earth Berming

As the site is located on the natural contour , hence certain passive techniques were used for the temperature regulation. Techniques such as earth berming, trombe wall, water walls, Landscaping, water bodies and terrace gardening are some of the other passive cooling techniques which have been implemented Orientation, These techniques reduces the temperature of the building up to the maximum extent.

Residential Apartments, Bhopal (INDAI) High Rise Residential Apartments , Bhopal (INDIA) Grade- Ist Year- 2012 Area- 18985 sq. M Ground Cov- 35% FAR- 1.5 The project was designed by keeping in mind the comfort of the user. Three types of apartments are designed on the basis of different income groups. • 3bhk as HIG • 2bhk as LIG • 1bhk as EWS Concept: The concept of the design id form followed by the function which is balanced in the surrounding and take the maximum advantage of the environment using the passive techniques to reduce the energy need for lifetime running of building. Residential Apartments, Bhopal (INDAI) Location: The Site is located in Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) India, the proposed site is 19000 sq. m, as the climate there is composite climate hence passive cooling technique were used in planning and designing of the residential units and the site planning of the building complex. Neighborhood Context: Surrounded by other developers with high rise buildings units. Natural features: Surrounded by trees and greenery all around , as the site is free from all kind of pollutants hence it is good for residing as it will help oneself soothing physically and mentally

EXPERIENCE

OFFICE COMPLEX- OPTIEMMS INFRATECH - NOIDA Commercial office complex in Noida- NCR (INDAI) . The project involved the designing and planning of the complex. The façade of the complex contains glass as well as ACP (Aluminum Composed Panels). The photographs below shows the project during execution Stage.

EXPERIENCE

Residence : Sushant Lok ( New Delhi ) (INDAI) . This project involved the designing and planning of the residence building. The structure is two storied building with exposed brick concept. The cladding material which has been used is Lakori Bricks (Brick Tile) and is in respect to the climate of Delhi Software Used: Auto Cad, Google sketch up, V-Ray, Photoshop

RESIDENCE – SHIVAKASHI (TAMIL NADU) PROFESSIONAL

EXPERIENCE

Residence : Shivakashi (Tamil Nadu) (INDAI) . The Project is a residential building where elevation development was targeted as the main design development stage. The open terrace is designed using the I beam Structure which holds the slab covering it. Software Used: Auto Cad, Google sketch up, V-Ray, Photoshop
