ABOUT
INDEPENDENT WORK
Unknown Obvious is an investigation of alternative spiritual worlds. By coming into contact with new unconscious planes in a search for answers, I have discovered new
approaches to form. The purpose of the project was to find new ways to create. I searched for inspiration in the world of
fortune telling, letting the explorations of my unconcious mind form the objects.
The hidden dimension within us where I have found these answers is not al ways obvious to either us or those watching us. It resembles the hidden face of an object, which rarely
receives the same attention as the visible one.
With these objects I want to expose the curiosity which first draws us to investigate this hidden side, and to show how we
are at different stages in this process of investigation.

UNKNOWN OBVIOUS
More often than not, the idea process required to create something defines its purpose and character more than its
appearance.
Like the idea of reincarnation, the creative process is a journey where ideas take different forms. It is the story of
how our creations come to life and how they affect – and are affected by – their environment.
Nate is a cabinet in a state of transformation. Inspired by the transformation in a reincarnation process, as well as by
nature it self.
Exhibited at “Is this it?”, Stockholm furniture fair 2013.
Exhibited at Tuttobene exhibition in Porta de Genova, salon de mobile, Milan design week 2013.
Featured in mexican interior magazine Chic Haus, and french magazine Trendbox.

NATE
GLASSWORK
A selection of vases made out of opaline glass. A project of experiments on how shapes can affect eachother.
I started out by drawing the first vessel, and then draw the next one based on the inverted shape of the previous one.
Exhibited at CrayCollective Exhibition #1 at Stockholm design week 2014.

Glass sculpture. Powered by solar cells. It captures the sunlight during the day, to make the light glow on in the
capsule when the sun goes down.
Inspired by a classic crystal chandelier, I wanted to create a portal light source that keeps that same phantasmal feeling,
but with a more flexible function.
The capsule is cordless and therefore portable for using both indoors and outside.

DAYLIGHT CAPSULE
A cupboard inspired by a childhood memory. It is a thought about saving a persons most beloved things.
My worst nightmare during my childhood was losing my favourite teddybear. As a child, you often have a close and unique sort of relationship with your favourite things. A
bond with our belongings we often lack as we grow older.
The cupboard is created to save these objects and keep them tight. And maybe save that beloved realationship to last a bit
longer.
It has been made out of foam rubber and a fabric that reminds me of teddy bears.
TEDDYSKÅPET
A study in a traditional swedish craft. By first learning the art of crocheting from scratch and mastering the technique, I used my new skills to slowly deconstruct it. It creates the
illusion of the lamp slowly falling apart.
A parallel to how the art of craftsmanship is slowly leaving the profession of a designer.
the lamp has been crochet by hand, and then hardened to create a solid shape.

THE SWEDISH FILM INSTITUTE
Interior design and decoration project for the 50th anneversary party of the swedish film institute. The set was in one of their biggest film studios at filmhuset in Stockholm, to bring a cinematic and
theathrical mood for the guests.

The first experiments of a moulding project together with designer Andreas Frienholt. The moulds have been created out of soft plastic, to let the material shape itself in a way
that we can´t control, to become more characteristic.

BOLON - THE CONTRADICTION OF SILENCE
Pop-up showroom for swedish flooring company Bolon together with CrayCollective for their new collection Silence.“The contradiction of silence” is the name of the film Bolon launched together with swedish choreographer Alexander
Ekman in conjunction with the collection. Together we interpreted the atmosphere of the film and the theme “show”
in to large scale “pop-up” sculptures, turning the two-dimensional carpet into something three-dimensional
and theatrical.

Installation showcased during Stockholm design week 2012. A freeze frame illusion of an exploding mirror. “unexploited spaces” is an installation with a vision to highlight new areas in already such venerable hall as Berns Asiatiska, Stockholm.
