BIKE RACK STATIONThis project took near Ohio State University. It’s in the middle of ohio bike trail, and in front of the olentangy river. The objective of this project is to make a bike station that can accomodate 100+ bikes, cafe and restroom.

Page 6: Portfolio, OSU

The bike rack system that i am interested to use is a hanging bike rack sys-tem. By using this system, i believe i can maximize the use of space so that i can accomodate more bikes in smaller space.

I am interested in using a curved branches pole so that the bike rack will look organic and once again maximise the space.

Another layer that i will put in this bike rack is a smell layer. The smell will be provided by the spray system that usually used in buildings and houses. This spray will be embaded inside the pole and then we can set the interval of time for the spray.

There will be two different smell that will be installed inside the pole as seen in the

diagram on the right.

I started this project by create a pattern from a circle. I overlay the circle and overlap it so that it generate a flowery and organic form. Then i took the interesting shape out of the pattern,

superimposed it and use it as the form for my building.

There will be 3 level of my bike station. The first one is the ground le-ver where peopele can sit and relax after their tired biking exercise. The second one is the toilet level and lastly the cafe level which can be reached from the top of this hilly landscape.

THE “IT” SHOE STOREThe site for this project is in a neighbourhood that can be placed in Broadway, Queens, etc. The building is a 2 level building where in the first floor, it is a shoe store and on the second floor is a tango club.

I am interested in the CMYK color, and how they can create a true color that we usually see when they combined together. I then mix it with the tango dance step to create the diagram which i wil use to create a different shape of “funnel”. Each funnel have a use to divert the sight of people who’s walking in front of the store. Whenever the diagram shows that the 3 colors combines together will be the place where you can actually see the real display of the shoes.

Purpose of this house is to make an all in one house that can accomodate recreation, living and working. The house will have its own zone with its specific function inside the spaces. So i seperate the spaces inside to 3 different category, living, relaxing and working. I then combine them together.

Sectionally, i modify the sloping site so that i have a strong sectional terracing. For the build-ing, to differenciate the spaces futher more, i propose for a different sectional strategy each. The relaxing will go cantiliver above the water so that it will give relaxing experience for people inside just like he is floating above water.

This 3 bedrooms house will have 3 parts. After you enter the house, you will be welcomed with the living space. This is where the kitchen and dining room will be located, then after you pass this space wou will enter the magnificent cantiliver box room where you can sense the shiny reflection sunlight from the river

below. All the bedrooms will be located on the ground floor. And the working space will have its own enterance access so that it will not disturb the living activity in the house.

RE-USE PAVILIONThe basic idea of this project is to create a welcoming center for a huge landfill near columbus, Ohio. The existing landfill named SWACO is a huge landfill that works in managing the district municipal solid waste stream to achieve environmentally responsible and cost-effective disposal

60% of the trash in the landfill are recycable

To start this project, i did some research on ma-terials in the landfill that can actually be used to create spaces and can accomodate activities. So, i came up with 3 interesting materials such as, pen-cils, parking cone and chairs and tru to do some study in 3d modelling for these materials. And i find that the mose sucessful of all is the parking cone because its not only generate spaces that reasonable for human activities, but it also create an interesting surface in the facade.

I looked at this presedent study which is a temporary experimental pavilion called Boxel, created by digital design students from the University of Applied Sciences in Detmold, Germany.

I am interested in using a uniform geometry, i choose circle because its a pure geometry that has no front, back or side facade. I think the welcoming center should be accesible from any side. I then put all the programs inside the circle and arrange it as a different pavillions. The leftover space as an open spaces the serves as different programms too.

The different circulation, when all the facility are being used (on the left), and when just walking around (on the right).

Everything in this project will come from the pattern in the landscape that i generate from circles. Some of them become vegetations and some will be an extruded landscape where it can have other function such as children’s playground, table or chairs. tvhnadrlkgahld

In this complex of pavillions, there are some points where the closed pavilions can be opened and then the program can extrude outside.

RE(illinois)ING KASKASKIAIn this project we are facing an island called kaskaskia. it is il-linois land that’s seperated by missisippi river. This island has a flooding problem which lead to the decrease of its population.

I overlap some area which then become the circula-tion area. the rest then become the program area and it will have different height. The overlap part then become an elevated surface which differentiate the circulation and viewing area.

This project is a project designed for a competition (Archmedium)The competition is about designing a theatre complex in Manhat-tan, New York City that can bring culture from around manhattan inside to the theatre.

RIBBONING THEATRE

Page 36: Portfolio, OSU

THEATRE

Ribboning theatre is a complex of concert hall that serves as a representation of the surrounding neighbourhood. The idea of this building is that it will form from a continuous ribbon that will overlap and intersect each other allowing spaces to form inside. The programs inside then places ad an object within its spaces.
