Portrait Photography (engagement, wedding, family, graduation, maternity, quinceañera, etc.)

Portrait Photography Fees and Requirements o Reservations must be made at least 2 working days in advance.

o A nonrefundable $25 deposit is required for all reservations at the time of booking. Deposits are applied

to the balance due.

o There is an additional fee for Photographers and Videographers without liability insurance.

Prices are listed per hour for every five (5) subjects with one photographer & one assistant during standard

Mission hours. Reservation Rates

Non-Commercial Photography Non-Reservation / Walk-Up

Non-Commercial Photography

$75 per hour for one (1) to five (5) subjects. $150 per hour for one (1) to five (5) subjects.

$150 per hour for six (6) to ten (10) subjects. $300 per hour for six (6) to ten (10) subjects.

$225 per hour for eleven (11) to fifteen (15) subjects. $450 per hour for eleven (11) to fifteen (15) subjects.

$300 per hour for sixteen (16) to twenty (20)

subjects.

$600 per hour for sixteen (16) to twenty (20)

subjects.

Videography is not permitted with portrait photography reservations. Videographers must

o Make a separate reservation and are required to have a current certificate of liability.

o Standard photography rates apply.

Photographers and Videographers must obtain proof of $1,000,000 ($1 million) liability insurance policy

before booking date and time. This can be faxed to (949) 481-9895 or emailed

to [email protected].

To schedule a reservation, contact Group Bookings Department at (949) 234-1306. Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (PT). Reservations without a confirmation will be charged as a walk-up.

Please note the operation or use of any drones, unmanned aircraft/flying systems, and remotely-controlled or radio-controlled flying machines (whether or not motorized) of all types, shapes, and sizes at any time in the vicinity of or on Mission property is prohibited. No pets allowed.

The use of tripods, set pieces/props, additional lenses, and lighting equipment MUST be approved in advance by our Booking Coordinator.

Commercial Photography and Filming

o Applications for commercial photography or filming must be submitted at least two weeks in advance. Site fees vary based on the details of each project. Application and details can be found on our website http://www.missionsjc.com/filming-photography/commercial-filming/

Portrait Photography

In order to ensure the enjoyment of our guests and safety of our grounds, The Mission has restricted the

amount of photoshoots allowed per day.

• Portrait photography includes (but is not limited to):

o Family portraits

o Engagements

o Weddings

o Quinceñera

o Maternity

o Graduation photos

o Company Team photos

o Christmas photos

• All photography with clients, professional or amateur, that utilize professional equipment or professional

services (hair dresser, florist, make- up artist etc.) require a commercial reservation.

• Photographs taken at the Mission may not be published, sold, reproduced, distributed or otherwise

commercially exploited.

• Guests & photographer are not permitted to climb on walls, arcades, ruins or historical structures.

• Appropriate attire is required.

• Clothes with obscene language / graphics, excessively torn clothes are not permitted.

• Clothes exposing excessive portions of the skin, thigh-high hem level dresses, plunging necklines to

the belly level / lower rib cage, sheer, lace and see through attire are not permitted.

• The use of lighting, reflectors, props (flowers, umbrellas, tables, chairs etc.), change of clothes, and

formal wear is considered by Mission San Juan Capistrano to be a portrait photography session.

• Pets are not permitted on the Mission grounds.

• There is no access to onsite electricity or power.

• Additional guidelines and rules will be reviewed upon check-in on the day of the reservation.

• Photographer(s) must wear a Photo Badge while on site. The badge will be provided upon check-in.
