Our Philosophy

Photography has been our passion for over 20 years.  

Our philosophy is simple; it’s about people.  More specifically, it’s about you.  A portrait should capture that element that is uniquely you ~ your style, your personality, your passions.  

Photographs are one of the few heirlooms we have to pass on to future generations ~ a visual representation of who you are.  Think about that trunk of old family photos in your attic or basement.  What an amazing gift to be able to see that twinkle in your great‐great‐grandmother’s eye, or that dimple in your grandfather’s cheek that is now on the cheek of your child.  What will your descendants see in your portrait hundreds of years from now?  A family‐owned and operated business, we value the importance of relationships.  In order to achieve that timeless portrait, it’s vital that you be in an atmosphere where you feel comfortable and encouraged to be yourself.    Our belief is that quality portraiture cannot be accomplished at your neighborhood department store or “one‐size‐fits‐all” studio that doesn’t allow for creativity or individuality.  You deserve special attention, and the time it takes to create that “portrait of a lifetime”.  In today’s modern age of digital photography, it is more important than ever to maintain the highest standards as a professional portrait photography studio.  We place a high value on education and continue to further our knowledge through formal education, as well as training in new industry advancements and technology.  We use the latest digital equipment and software, and all of our prints are processed using professional‐grade paper with a special luster finish.   “The goal is not to change your subjects, but for the subject to change the photographer” ~Author Unknown

Senior Portraits

Congratulations ~ This is YOUR YEAR!  

Homecoming, prom, exams, college applications, Senior trips, graduation, open house celebrations … Your Senior Year of High School is a year you will never forget ~ and your senior portrait should last forever, too!  At Archibald Studios, we believe that EVERY Senior deserves special attention.  We will take the time to design a portrait session around YOUR interests and YOUR ideas.  We 

believe your Senior portrait should reflect who you are, and should be a celebration of all you have achieved.  In recent years, it has become a trend with many high schools to require that Senior yearbook photos be a standard school portrait.  While this may achieve a school’s desire for consistency and conformity, we believe being a Senior is all about individuality and your personality, and you should have a keepsake to represent this once‐in‐a‐lifetime achievement.  We’ll work with you to create a portrait that captures the REAL you ~ not the “yearbook” you.  With a wide variety of professional print options, folios, leather‐bound albums, custom‐designed keepsake books, graduation cards and announcements, we can create the complete Senior Year package.

Family.  Such a small word with a life‐changing impact.  Our families teach us, guide us, inspire us, and are there for us our entire lives.  A family portrait can retain those memories, even as life changes.  Whether it’s capturing the precious moments and anticipation of expectant parents, the innocence of a newborn, the precociousness of a child, or the loving embrace of a grandparent, a professional family portrait is an heirloom for all generations.  We will work with you to achieve the heirloom portrait that captures the uniqueness of your family.  Whether it is fun and spontaneous, or serene and formal, your portrait will be treasured for generations to come. 

 There are often places or things that have special meaning, and often become like a part of the family.  Whether it’s your home, the family cabin, a special campsite or other favorite family location, why not bring that special touch into your portrait?  We will take your portrait at the location of your choosing. (travel charges apply outside the Twin Cities area)

Session Fees

We offer two options for portrait sessions  ~ a simple, single‐location session and a deluxe “Double Session.”  These session fees apply to all of our portrait sessions ~ Seniors, Families, Children or any other individual sessions.  Portrait sessions for large groups are available at a rate of $100 per hour, offered in a single location.   

PERSONALIZED PHOTO SESSION  ~  $125 This session includes a location of your choice.  Session length is approximately 60 ‐ 90 minutes.  There is no limit to the number of clothing/accessory changes, provided they fall into the designated session time.   

THE “DOUBLE SESSION”  ~  $225 This session includes two locations of your choice.  Session length is approximately 60 minutes at each location (travel time not included).  There is no limit to the number of clothing/accessory changes, provided they fall into the designated session time.   Some suggestions for your location shoot:  

Urban / Downtown   Country / Farm and Fields  Water / Lakeside  Como Conservatory / Flower Gardens  Industrial  School / Sports / Activity 

Session Fees

The Fine Print   Session fees are for photographer’s time only and do not 

include prints.  All proofs are provided for your review in an online gallery.  

Printed proofs are available upon request for an additional charge. 

Proofs include basic retouching (removal of blemishes, skin softening, etc.).  Prints include more advanced retouching and photo editing, as necessary. 

Locations within 40 miles of our studios in Coon Rapids, Minnesota are included in the session fee.  Travel charges of $.75 per mile will apply for additional mileage. 

Outdoor sessions may need to be rescheduled due to inclement weather.  We will do our best to provide as much advance notice as possible. 

Session fee must be paid in full in order to reserve the session date.  If payment is not received by session date, Archibald Studios reserves the right to cancel the session. 

Refunds:  Full session fee will be refunded if cancellation is provided within 24 hours prior to booked session.  If cancellation is received with less than 24 hours notice, 50% of session fee will be refunded.  No‐shows will forfeit entire session fee.  Sessions can be re‐scheduled at no charge. 

All images are the property of Archibald Studios and cannot be copied without written permission.  A print authorization release will be provided with the purchase of a photo CD.

Prints and Wall Art

All of our prints are available on an “a la carte” basis.  Simply choose the quantity and sizes that meet your needs.  No packages, no confusion.  Our wallets and enlargements are printed on professional‐grade paper with a premium lustre finish.

HEIRLOOM GALLERY WALL ART The showpiece of your home.  Our heirloom gallery wall art is available in two professional quality formats:  Fine Art Canvas Gallery Wraps  and Fine Art Velvet Paper.  Fine Art Canvas Gallery Wraps are printed on professional portraiture canvas and stretched onto a gallery wrap frame.  Fine Art Velvet portraits are printed on a watercolor‐style paper and mounted on a 1/8” hard masonite backboard.

Lasting Impressions

We offer a variety of specialty keepsake items designed to display your portraits with style.  Custom merchandise and other items also available upon request.  

FOLIOS  ~  $65 Folios are a fold‐out display with simulated leather cover that hold multiple 4x5 images.  Available in two styles: “Glory Days” and “Spirit”.  

PRINTED PROOFS Your unedited original proofs are available for purchase in three styles.  Please note: proofs are for your personal use only and are subject to copyright restrictions.  They cannot be duplicated. 

For print orders of $500 or more, your proofs will be provided FREE in a 4x5 black box.  

KEEPSAKE ALBUMS  ~  $120 ‐ $400 We can place your enlargements in a large traditional album.  We have a variety of colors and styles available.   Prices vary depending upon size and style.  

PHOTO CD  ~  $400 All of your proofs with basic retouching, along with a print authorization release.  The CD comes in your choice of a keepsake simulated leather case or custom press‐printed case featuring your photo on the cover.  For print orders of $1,000 or more, your Photo CD will be included  at NO CHARGE.
