PrayerLord Jesus, I feel weak and helpless in my illness and I want to escape and hide from the possibility of death.

Once again, I am seeking false comfort for the moment in the denial of death, but I know that this can only lead to anger and despair.

Rise up, Lord, and strengthen me now in this time of trial; forgive me for doubting that your grace is always with me.

Give me patience with those who seek to comfort me in my illness and courage to face the future.

I make this prayer in union with you, Lord Jesus, who accepted sufferings more painful than mine.

Amen. Alleluia!
