Corporates Ask for “Sooner, Higher, and Later” Changes to Same Day ACH Payments Same Day ACH is on track to deliver 175 million faster payments in 2018. Yet since Same Day ACH went live in 2016, corporate treasury and payment practitioners have been asking for enhancements: 1) sooner funds availability; 2) higher dollar limits; and 3) later deadlines for sending Same Day ACH payments. Now, Nacha and the ACH Network deliver all three of these enhancements. Speakers from Nacha and a financial institution will tell the story of how corporate input made these changes a reality, and how the ACH Network will bring these enhancements to market. 1.2 AAP

Reg E and the ACH RulesRegulation E provides a basic framework that establishes participants’ rights, liabilities and responsibilities when handling unauthorized electronic funds transfers disputes. The ACH Rules provide a process for returning unauthorized debit Entries within a specified extended return timeframe. When it comes to consumer account holders disputing ACH debit Entries, it can be difficult at times to align Regulation E timeframes with the ACH Rules. Our panel will discuss Regulation E consumer liability and the error resolution process, and tools and techniques we can utilize to limit our losses and ensure compliance as a financial institution. 1.2 AAP

Fighting RDC Mobile Banking Fraud with Machine LearningMobile banking use is on the rise, and as banking services grow, so do fraud attempts using mobile banking capabilities. Fraudsters have repeatedly created schemes by blending traditional tactics with new technologies or new banking services. A recent technique involves a very old form of payment – checks – with a newer, but rapidly growing mobile banking service – remote deposit capture (RDC) – to commit check fraud. The mobile banking scams leveraging RDC most frequently in use are the Sweetheart Scam and Fake Online Payday Lenders. This session will provide insights on how criminals are using mobile banking to commit check fraud and how financial institutions can successfully prevent losses and proactively help their customers avoid future fraud problems. 1.2 AAP • 1.2 APRP

Your Customers and CybersecurityAre you informing your customers about the risk of cybersecurity? How can financial institutions better inform customers about the risk of fraud? Business and consumer customers alike often do not place enough focus on security until they have experienced loss due to fraud. As financial institutions, we understand cyber risk and spend time and money protecting our customers’ information – but how do we help our customers do more to protect themselves? In this session, our panelists will discuss basic (and some not so basic) steps that customers should take to improve their cyber hygiene, share war stories and the ways that the fraud could have been avoided. They’ll also present opportunities for financial institutions to increase their community and customer involvement through security education. 1.2 AAP • 1.2 APRP • 1.2 NCP*
