    PCC MEETING

    Wednesday, 16th

    November 2011 at 7.30pm

    Prcis of the Minutes

    1. WORSHIPPhil Atkinson read from Matthew chapter 5: 14. John Dracup opened in prayer.

    2. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING 19th October 2011The minutes were accepted as a true record of the meeting.

    3. MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES 19th October 2011 (not on the agenda)It is anticipated that all outstanding tasks will be actioned by the end of the year.

    Item 6: Christingles

    The making of Christingles will be on Thursday 22nd

    December 2011.

    4. CORRESPONDENCEa) Normanton All Saints Infant School

    Don Gilkes will approach appropriate person(s) who might wish to apply for the position of Foundation

    Governor.

    MAIN AGENDA

    1. FINANCEa) Review Tithe Giving

    This item was deferred to the next PCC meeting on the 18th

    January 2012.

    b) AccountsSandy Vanstan presented in detail the October 2011 Accounts.

    c) Parish ShareThe PCC had been asked by Bishop Stephen to make a decision on the churchs contribution to the parish

    share this year in view of the current financial climate. The PCC therefore made the decision to cease

    payment of parish share from 1st

    December 2011 and review in January 2012.

    d) Approved Suppliers ListThe PCC agreed an Approved Suppliers List from the 1

    stJanuary 2012; that would carry out repairs to the

    church. The PCC will agree suppliers onto the list and review annually.

    2. INTRODUCTION OF PRAYER MINISTRY IN CHURCHThe PCC agreed the proposal of a prayer ministry group who will pray for people in the side chapel, following

    services.

    3. VICARS ITEMSa) Limiting the Number of Guests of Baptism Families

    The PCC agreed there should be no more than 4 baptisms at each service; there would not be a limit to

    the number of guests; though 120 guests would be the maximum.

    4. WARDENS ITEMSa) Church School Car Parking

    The Church Wardens are addressing the problem of car parking within the vicinity of the church school, in

    particular outside the parish rooms, which is causing an obstruction for motorists and pedestrians.

    b)

    Repairs to the Church BuildingsWork had recently been undertaken to repair the roof above the Lady Chapel, the east chancel. The

    church is now water tight.

    c) Deputy Church WardenRoger Wills has agreed to be Deputy Church Warden with a specific responsibility for the fabric of the

    church.

    5. TLGPhil Atkinson reported on behalf of Gavin Budby that Bishop Stephens visit on the 14

    thNovember 2011 was

    positive.

    6. DEANERY REPORTSally Dinsdale highlighted the points for discussion at the next Deanery Meeting on the 7

    thFebruary 2012:

    7. CHURCHES TOGETHERLent courses in 2012 will be held at different churches. Phil Atkinson thanked SD on behalf of the PCC for her work

    as Deanery Synod representative.

    8. ANY OTHER BUSINESSa) Bishop Stephens Visit on the 14th November 2011

    Phil Atkinson reiterated that Bishop Stephen was very impressed with the work related to TLG.

    b) Parish WeekendThe PCC expressed their thanks to Colin Buchannan for his contribution to the Well Project.
