    Relative location words discribe where things are relative to other things.

    かぐの うえに ランプが あります。 There is a lamp above the furniture.

    まどの ちかくに ねこが います。 There is a cat near the window.

    ■ なにか、 だれか、 どれか、 どこかなにか、だれか、どれか and どこか are indefinite pronouns.

    なにか something だれか someone どれか one of them どこか somewhere

    The particles は, が and を are usually deleted after such existential pronouns.

    • なにか かいましたか? Did you buy something?

    • けさ だれかに あいましたか? Did you see someone this morning?

    • だれかと うみに いきましたか? Did you go to the beach with someone?

    • どれか とってください。 Please take one of them.

    • どこかに りょこうしましたか? Did you go on a trip somewhere?

    なにも、だれも、どれも and どこも are negative indefinite pronouns. These are used with the verb in negative form.

    なにも nothing だれも no one どれも none of them どこも nowhere

    The particles は, が and を are usually deleted after such existential pronouns.

    • あさ なにも たべません。 I didn’t eat anything in the morning.

    • きょう だれも きません。 No one will come today.

    • どれも おいしくありません。 None of them was delicious.

    • ことし どこにも りょこうしませんでした。 I didn’t go on a trip anywhere this year.

    -Note-When it combines with another particle, the particle is placed before も.

    だれも (no one)  →  だれとも (with anyone)どこも (nowhere) →  どこにも ((to) nowhere)

    • だれとも にほんごを べんきょうしません。   I don’t study Japanese with anyone.

    • だれにも あいませんでした。   I didn’t see anyone.

    • きょう どこにも いきません。   I won’t go anywhere today.

    ■ Forma て form 

    Listing verbs

    The てform is applied in many expressions, such as the imperative form てください, asking for permisson てもいいですか?,etc. Usually you need to use the てform for all verbs except the last verb when listing acctions done by the same person in the same sentence.The structure of the て form depends on the kind of verb.

    Group 1 (1だん)The る ending is replaced by て.

    みる → たべる → おしえる → ねる →

    Group 5 (5だん)The てform of 5だん verbs depends on the final syllable in the dicctionary form.

    verbs ending in う、つ、る → って

    かう → まつ → うる →

    verbs ending in ぶ、む、ぬ → んで

    あそぶ → よむ → しぬ →  

    verbs ending in く → いて

    かく →

    verbs ending in ぐ → いで

    およぐ →

    Irregular verbs

    する → くる →

    The particle と is just used to unite nouns so for listing verbs you need to use the てform.

    がっこうに いって、にほんごを べんきょうします。 I go to the school and study Japanese.

    しゅくだいを して、さんぽしました。 I did my homework and went for a walk.

    ばんごはんを たべて、テレビを みます。 I have dinner and watch TV.

    ほんを よんで、てがみをかいて、ゆうびんきょくにいきます。 I will read a book,write a letter

    and go to the post office.

    -Note-

    The verb いく is an exception in this case.
