Introduction and Objectives• Opportunity for Rugby League to

upscale the role charity plays in the development of the sport and its communities.

• Mandate from the RFL, SL & Championship CEO’s, community game and Rugby League’s charities for the Rugby League Foundation to do this work.

• Working under the title of Good to Great the Rugby League Foundation has been on the journey of remodelling its work since 2010.

The Goal: To significantly develop Rugby League’s community through leveraging “New Money/Resources” in a charity context.

RUGBY LEAGUE CARES

New charity, unifying existing family of charities: Rugby League Foundation, Heritage Trust, RFL Benevolent Fund, Super League and Championship charities.

• Helping the sports’ “family” and broad community:

- Past: Celebrate heritage & traditions - Present: Support Family, especially in

times of hardship & distress - Future: Support grassroots projects

Aim – To become the biggest club in Rugby League (10,000 by 2015)

League. • Fund Raise.

2013 PlanGrantsTarget to distribute £40k in grants to support the development of grass roots projects.Typically awards will be made of approximately £1000 per application.

WelfareNew programme.Inspired by Men of League Foundation in Oz.Target 20/30 cases of Welfare assistance.Administer Pro Players Ed Fund

HeritageWembley Statue.Link to and benefit from the RLWC2013.Carry out a Heritage Audit.Support existing projects in clubs and wider community.

Benevolent FundRemains independent.BF & RLC work together to raise money for acute injuries and specialist support cases.
