Thousands of Canadian Muslim youth are teaming up to make a positive contribution to the most needy across the country. There are various activities organized across Canada to raise awareness for this important cause, and with the successful launch of this campaign thousands of youth across 75 chapters have begun to collect food by going door-to-door, carrying out indoor/outdoor food collection, and hosting awareness events across the country. This platform will engage countless Muslim youth across the country, an example of how the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association helps to put Muslim youth on a constructive path, by empowering them to make a positive and significant difference in society. Initiatives such as this which help to inculcate the spirit of serving mankind within the youth, are a powerful way of cutting at the root of extremism and youth radicalization. The campaign has started off at a blistering pace. In a matter of days, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has already raised over 200, 000 pounds of food across the country, as the first major holiday season push continues. The phase breakdown of the Million Pounds Food plan is as follows: Phase 1: 60% of collection by end of holiday period, Phase 2: 80% by end of March, Phase 3: 100% by end of June. Zahid Chaudhary, the National Director of Humanitarian services of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association said, “Our faith requires us to serve mankind in whatever way we can, and so we are happy to announce the official launch of the “Million Pounds of Food” nationwide initiative, to bring widespread awareness and significant tangible contribution toward ending hunger in Canada.” # # # About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at: The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at is a dynamic, fast-growing international revival movement within Islam. Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association launches national campaign to raise one million pounds of food for the needy

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association has successfully launched a national campaign to raise one million pounds of food in an effort towards ending hunger in Canada. Thousands of Canadian Muslim youth are teaming up to make a positive contribution to the most needy across the country.
