Instructions.

Two can play this game.

Player 1 has all the medicinal plant cards. Player 2 has all the ailment cards.

Using the template provided, Player 1 puts a picture of a medicinal plant on the table, asking ‘He aha tenei? (what is this?)

Player 2 identifies the plant ‘He______ tenei (this is....)

Player 1 asks ‘Me te aha tenei? (what is this used for?)

Player 2 puts down the appropriate card, identifying the ailment.

Eg: Student 1: He aha tenei? (puts down a picture of Kawakawa)

Student 2: He kawakawa tenei.

Student 1: Mo te aha tenei?

Student 2: noho tungara (puts down a picture of someone with a toothache)

Recycling card game

Part 1: The picture cards and word cards are mixed up and placed face down on the table. In pairs, take turns to turn a

picture card and a word card over to see if they match, using the vocabulary and picture list. If they do not match, the

cards are replaced pace down on the table. If they do match, the player gets to keep the cards. The player with the

most match ups wins.

Part 2: Using the sentence template below, ask each other in maori what recycling bin does each of their items get put

into.
