Summary of School Sports Premium

Objectives 2016/17:

To continue developing high quality sports provision within curriculum PE and in extra-curricular clubs

Build on pupils’ skills and teachers’ subject knowledge in Team Sports and Gymnastics.

-Identify gifted and talented pupils and provide them with additional support to develop their skills.

-Enrich pupils’ experiences of extra-curricular through Rocket Ball, Tri Golf, Gymnastics and Orienteering.

Provide opportunities for Lunchtime Sport to pupils who do not access extra-curricular sports or sports outside of school opportunities to participate in further sporting activities.

Staff are encouraged to attend training on areas they need support with or may have they may missed. Staff access to borough CPD website resources as part of subscription to local partnership service.

Develop Healthy Lifestyle Curriculum by extending range of sporting and outdoor activities available to children.

Develop PHSE curriculum to include Keep fit activities.

£13028 Enable Children to access a broader range of sports to enrich their experience and enable children not engaged in traditional sports the opportunity to achieve in alternatives – including Tennis, Volleyball, Junior Archery, Hockey, Rocket Ball.

Introduce an Orienteering After School Club to enable children to access the Outdoors as a physical activity.

Develop school sports leaders to lead and coordinate sporting activities at lunch and break times.

Provide the new Year 5 Sports Leaders with a clear identify using bibs.

Staff attendance has impacted on this programme. The school is looking to achieve more stability in 207 2018 and so this programme will continue.

Increase Children’s skills and access to Swimming above the Statutory National Curriculum Offer, recognising that Swimming is a fantastic low stress exercise with the benefit of being a lifesaving skill. The local area has three Rivers and is close to the Coast.
