ResumeArchitecture is my passion. I strive to meaningfully contribute to our built environment through the creation of memorable public spaces. I seek an architecture firm which can utilize my talents, attitude, and energy.

Construction Administration• Responsible for RFI and submittal review.• Created and distributed ASI’s.• Estimate change order costs and propose alternative cost effective design solutions.• Issue and create Punch lists and Notices of Non-Conformance (NCN).

Tasks include:• Preparation of preliminary architectural working drawings• Basic analyses of design and construction systems, limited design layouts, and construction details• Research, gather, and record information for use in writing specifications• Inspection of sites and work under construction and submitting findings to project management

Tasks include:• Assist in the coordination and design of a pop-up retail space in Citi Field, NY.• Act as project leader within the Engineering department to manage the project / work with other

engineering detailers participating in the project.• Assist in the design and drafting of custom millwork as needed

Physical Model and Research• Primary responsibility was the creation of a presentation model for client display.• Produce construction drawings for two smaller buildings, a newspaper stand and an enclosure for an

emergency generator. • Extensive product research into cable railing design.

Project Management• Assist in the coordination of professional consultants, general contractors, and local utility companies

to successfully design and gain permits for three small transit hubs and improve 180 bus stops along 8 Mile. (Detroit, MI)

• Conducted programming interviews to determine user needs for a proposed 100,000 sq. ft. administration building. (Detroit, MI)

(Chicago, IL)

Construction Documentation and Misc. CAD work• Team member in the production of several school, auditorium, and gymnasium projects.• Produced interior elevation package for MGM Grand Casino, while “on loan” to Smith Group. • Create 3D models and renderings as needed.• Perform site measurements and create “as-built” drawings for renovation projects.

Office Standards• Sustained office CAD drafting standards.• Developed and maintained construction administration file structure.• Organized architecture material library in CSI format.

Architectural Design• Aided in the architectural and lighting design for a 60,000 sq. ft. saw tooth canopy structure to shelter a pro-

posed transit hub. (Syracuse ,NY)• Supported the conceptual and schematic design of a 6,900 sq. ft. transit hub. (Painesville, OH)• Primary support for the conceptual site design and bus safety analysis of a proposed transit hub. (Miami, FL)• Aided in site and functional analysis for a proposed 100,000 sq. ft. administration building and attached

parking garage. (Detroit, MI)• Assist in the site and schematic design of five separate bus and rail facilities as a part of the proposed

Red Rocks Commuter rail system. (St. Paul, MN)• Supported the conceptual site design of several proposed commuter rail and bus transit facilities.

My first task in architecture was to create a physical model over the summer of 2004. The cheesecloth canopy was delivered by the canopy sub-consultant. I built the rest of the model around this base. The model is now displayed in

the front lobby of DDOT’s headquarters.

My role in this project was to design several options to show how a bus transfer hub might fit on an oddly shaped lot in Miami, FL. The primary challenge was separating nearby private school traffic from bus traffic along NE 165th St. Special care was taken to ensure that site

circulation was feasible and safes as the turning radii are near the limits of a typical bus.

Site Design / Master PlanningA proposed extension of Chicago’s commuter rail system. These two proposals demonstrate bus and rail facilities integrated into two

different sites along I-94. My role was to convert a prototype layout to fit both sites and to show via massing studies of how the stations would appear from a nearby overpass.

My first site plan. We proposed a simple transfer center and included the option to include a transit center.

Our Client for this project desired a traditional structure which would blend into the surrounding area. We were able to propose a transit center which concealed a modern interior under a traditional roof line.

Starting with a parking garage plan supplied by a sub-consultant, my role was to design an aesthetically pleasing “skin” for the structure including vertical circulation towers. Bus loading operations took place under the garage.

Landscape and canopy design. My role was to assist in the design of a canopy to cover the site and to propose a preliminary site design.

As a part of a retail buildout in Citi Field, home of the NY Mets, I assisted in the creation of a full CD set. This included specialty retail mill-work, CNC files, and finishes. I travelled to NY to field measure the site and helped coordinate all the drawing set.

As a part of a settlement agreement relating to a highway bridge, I was involved in the repair of a loading dock wall. This relatively small project was challenging in that I had to figure out how the wall was originally assembled based on a series of photographs. The exterior wall was relo-

cated behind the face of the building.

I was asked to create a set of build-out plans for a small office. The program included a conference room, kitchenette, and space for inspectors to write reports.

As a part of the PB team, I assisted in the preparation of numerous sheets in the final construction drawing set.

As part of the Citi Field Retail Buildout, I created cnc files and shop drawing level documents for several pieces of millwork.

Throughout the construction of Rosa Parks Transit Center I was asked to prepare many sketches in response to a variety of field

conditions. These sketches demonstrate and understanding of the construction process and critical problem solving skills.

Massive Disaster Relief was the subject of my final project at LTU. The project focused both on providing housing and community

services to the victims of natural disasters.

Page 19: Print Portfolio

The first portion of the project was to prepare a housing solution suitable for a variety of scales. The proposed solution can accommo-

date very large populations or be deployed for a single family.

Community services are the most difficult to provide following a natural disaster. This proposed pavilion is flexible enough to meet

the most common needs of survivors.

Page 21: Print Portfolio

A key need following natural disasters is a need for information. The pavilion provides access to television news and internet access. Information desks provide an easy legal access for victums legal needs. This includes government ID and financial aid programs.
