SYLLABI Credit-Based Autonomous Semester Scheme: Revised Syllabus Subject Title: Hindi B.A & B.S.W Degree Course 2015-16 PREAMBLE: Hindi is the mostly widely spoken of India’s official languages. It is spoken mainly in Northern States of Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Khand, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar. It is the second major language in Andaman and Nicobar Islands and it is also spoken alongside with regional languages like Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi or Bengali throughout North and central India. Hindi is also understood in other parts of India as well as in the neighboring countries of Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan. The syllabus includes computer knowledge base in Hindi media editing, translation and reporting. Attempt is made to acquaint the students to understand the cultural & historical sensibilities of India. Hindi language essentially deals with the network of social relationships in society. OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT: An under-graduate course in Hindi language in this college is based on following objectives. To impart knowledge on basic National language and development of Nationality. To help students to achieve a Career after Graduation To prepare students to stand in good stead in professional, vocational and higher education. To bring about an integrated development of personality of the students. To give an exposure to the structure and institutions of Indian Culture and History. To develop an appreciation of traditional practices that is dying out due to modernization. To bring out the relevance of literature as an important discipline in today’s multicultural social conditions. KEY AREAS OF INSTRUCTIONS: Group discussions and presentations. Teaching through news papers, magazines etc. Preparation of charts, chippings of pictures, relevant information from print media. Arranging mock interviews, role play, and screening of movie. Presentation of assignments, projects, surveys on mass-media relevant issues. Learning from field visits, website, Internet skills, Multilingual in computer study. Problem solving and solving old question papers. Interpersonal and leadership skills career options include. Translator, Travel Tourism Management, Receptionist, Front office executive, Customer service, Executive administrative assistant, Teacher(with B. Ed), Lecturer with PG degree, Government Departments and NGO’s The course provides students who qualify an easy entry to the B.Ed and Post Graduation Programme. OUR VISION: To impart language, literature knowledge to the young to sensitize them to the complex character of social reality, to understand change and improve their lives and of others by preserving and perpetuating knowledge of literature in future society. FACULTY OBJECTIVES:

To train the students in research methodology by conducting surveys and research. Expansion of Hindi library by introducing books on recent Hindi literature themes. Prepare articles on important Hindi literature and current National issues. To involve students in literature The department intends to continue with innovative methods to impart knowledge. LEARNER OBJECTIVES:

To impact computer skills through Hindi, Editing, Publications, Media writing. To promote opportunities for self-employee through computer based budge & skills. To facilitate budge regarding aware of culture, music, art and Nationality To promote the budge of in Hindi. Participation in co-curricular activities, workshops, for self-improvement. The BOS after detailed discussion of all the pertinent issues at its meeting held on November 12th, 2014 approved the following syllabus for the Hindi Credit-Based Semester Scheme (Autonomous). SYLLABUS:

The Department of Hindi offers in all second language for four semester of B.A and four semester of B.S.W degree course. The B.A & B.S.W Hindi syllabus is revised and updated regularly. In the first semester the course is centered on prose, stories and grammar. In the second semester modern poem, drama, official letter writing, computer words, technical media words, translation. Third semester medieval poems, novel and grammar. In the fourth semester social media writing and editing technology and multi lingual computer course, internet, website Hindi DTP etc.,

TEACHING METHODS

Group Discussion During any group activities, feelings are frequently generated by the interactions between students. These feelings, however, are seldom talked about, but guesses based on tone of voice, facial expressions, gestures and many other forms. The individual’s personality can be better observed. Review Recap Recapitulation in the class encourages the students to actively participate and keeps them alert. Student Presentation End of the class hour students are given ten minutes each to present. After the presentation students were allowed to clarify doubts if any from the paper presenter. Chart Making To understand the subject matter advertisement of the syllabus and to involve students actively they were asked to chart making. Assignments Students were asked to write assignments on certain topics. This would help students to utilize the library and other aids. Debate The major goal of the study of debate as a method or art develop students ability to play from either position with equal ease. Wall Magazine/Board Articles collected by the students and displayed on the wall magazine/board. Evaluation Methods The students are evaluated on the basis of Group discussion, Test, Assignments, Terminal exam, End semester exam. Consultation and Coaching For Students Students who are slow learners and who have language problem are given special attention. Extention & outreach progames Each class students extention programme & outreach programmes are conducting in the Hindi department (various schools (disable, HIV, like) ashtrams, historical& cultural places)

SATRANG HINDI SAHITYA SANGH School of Social Work,

Department of Hindi, School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, started Hindi Sahitya Sangh on 07 July, 2009. Objectives 1. To Enhance students’ communicative skills in Hindi. 2. To Provide exposure to Hindi literature. 3. To broaden their knowledge about the cultural ethos of India through Hindi Sahitya Sangh activities. Membership SATRANG STUDENT BEARERS: The members are students who have opted for Hindi as their second language. The membership is open to all. The students committee like President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Workng Committee. SATRANG OFFICE BEARERS: Respected President Honorable principal, President & Convenor Chairperson of Hindi Dept.And co-faculty, Vice president & Respected Advisors. ‘Satrang’ has also got its own new magazine named “SATRANG” meaning We Are the colours. Department has got its own new library named “SMRUTHI” meaning good and pleasant memories and is named by the students of the Hindi sahithya sangh itself. It was inaugurated on 22nd July, 2010. Hindi Department H.O.D is the library in charge. Activities Spoken Hindi The Department of Hindi started spoken Hindi classes on 03 August, 2009. Now 2015 we added vocational students also for spoken Hindi class. Wall Magazine/Board ‘Hindian Got Talent’ Articles in Hindi are collected by the students after edited by chairperson it displayed on the wall magazine/board. This fosters interest in the language among students. Selected articles publish in college magazine. The Board expressed satisfaction over the previous years question papers and the performance of the students as reflected in the results were found to be satisfactory. The details were expressed to the Board.
