Unit Sets Stored in Dabacon The Unit Sets feature of AVEVA Engineering, which is configured in the Lexicon module of AVEVA Administration, now stores its data in Dabacon data structures. In previous versions, this information had been stored in an XML file in each project. There is no functional change to Unit Sets in the AVEVA Engineering product itself, but new functionality has been added to the Lexicon module in AVEVA Administration 1.3 in order to support interoperability with older XML storage of this data. Important Note: Before making any modifications to your Unit Sets, please make a backup copy of your old XML Units Sets file, so you can restore any Unit Sets from this backup copy, if required. The file can be found in your project’s defaults subfolder, as follows: %XXXdflts%\UnitSetsConfiguration\UnitSets.xml where XXX is the name of your project. Fault Corrections

The following problems requiring your attention have been found in Acceptance Testing or after Release but have not yet been corrected in a subsequent release:

A new feature of Engineering 14.1.SP1 and Administration 1.3, Unit Sets Stored in Dabacon, was not documented correctly in the User Bulletin for Engineering 14.1.SP1. The missing information is detailed below.

The Unit Sets menu in Lexicon now has two new options and a small change to the existing option:

Import from XML

This option loads the previous XML format of Unit Sets from the standard location (described above) and creates the appropriate data in the current Dictionary database to re-create the Unit Sets contained in the XML file.

Important Note: If you have no writeable Dictionary databases in your currently open MDB, then this operation will fail.

Export to XML

This option overwrites the XML file in the standard location with the Unit Sets stored in the Dictionary databases visible in the currently open MDB.

Configure …

This option continues to work as it did previously, however, all changes are now written to Dabacon data structures and not into the XML file.

Upgrade Recommendation: When upgrading to AVEVA Engineering 14.1 and Administration 1.3, AVEVA strongly recommends that the import of Unit Sets from older versions of Engineering is done before using any configuration which uses Unit Sets definitions, for example: Datasheets Templates.
