• I began with opening photo shop and created a new project.

• I then began creating text boxes for cover lines and began to place them around my page in order. I then imported an image of a bar code as well as creating a graphic feature using the shape tool and reordered my layers so that the word ‘plus’ was visible.

• I then changed the font of my mast head accordingly to my design. I started to experiment with different font sizes and colours etc.

• I then began to add to my graphic feature, rather than bullet extra bands I looked at other rock magazines and found they used shapes so I decided a cross shape would be appropriate. I then created black boxes to which the

• Here I created my main headline. After looking at other magazines I realised the majority had the website on the front cover and so I decided to have this and placed the website above the Masthead.

• I imported my image to photoshop and began to edit it, removing the background and shadow. As well as this I used my photoshop skills to remove marks and red eye.

• Next I imported my edited image onto my front cover and rearranged the positioning to suit the layout.

• After feedback and comparing my product to other magazines I found my layout was too spacious and so resolved this by rearranging my graphic feature to the bottom of the page. I then enlarged the headline and added a outer/inner shadow effect.

• Finally, I had a last rearrangement of the layout, positioning cover lines either side of the page so that they didn’t cover my main image. I created black boxes for all my cover lines to draw attention towards them and also to appeal towards my target audience.

• However after feedback and comparing my product to other rock genre magazines, I felt I had to change my main image. I retook the picture and chose this Mise en scene as the dark colours in his outfit represented rock as well as this, the stereotypical pose communicates rock fan and the headphones around his neck suggest music.

• As well as this I added a graphic feature fore advertisement. I chose the colour yellow as it stood out from the background. I added a stroke to make it stand out and stretched the text. From feedback I removed the website and used it for my Contents page. Because of this there was a gap, so I enlarged my Masthead so that it stretched to the top of the page. I then edited the size of the black text boxes creating boxes for individual text.

• This is my final product. To draw further attention to my Masthead I added a red stroke effect, I also added a stroke effect to all the coverlines so that they were clearer to see against my main image. I also imported an image of Refrain underneath their coverline. I had a final rearrangement of my layout, adjusting text etc.
