Große vereinigte Theorien (GUT)

GUT = Grand Unified Theory

Grundidee der großen Vereinigung

Die Symmetriegruppen des Standardmodells, SU(3), SU(2) und U(1), sind Untergruppen einer größeren

Symmetriegruppe G.

Quarks und Leptonen gehören zu denselben Multiplets von G.

Die höhere Symmetrie G ist jenseits einer sehr hohen Massenschranke MG gültig. In diesem Bereich gibt es nur

noch eine Eichkopplung G.

Für Energien unterhalb von MXc2 ist die Symmetrie gebrochen. Die Eichkopplungen der einzelnen Wechselwirkungen sind unabhängig und die

Energieentwicklung ist unterschiedlich gemäß der Renormierungsgruppen-gleichung der entsprechenden

Untergruppe.
