    I am keen to begin a career as a Crime Screener, after an accomplished academic career in law(LLB/Hons) and science (MSc), with more than six years experience combined with working, and other commitments. Whereby, I am proficient in all areas relating to crime and the legal processes in a forensiccontext. This ranges from crime pattern analysis, to identifying crime series, crime trends, persistentoffenders (criminal/investigative profiling) and, white-collar crime in forensic psychology. I also have therelevant skills and satisfactory experience, which could easily be transferable to the above post. In

    achieving this, I have shown myself to be self-motivated, committed and determined in achieving mygoals. I have also demonstrated that I am an organized, focused and strong-willed person with a firmsense of responsibility towards my duties. I have clear thinking and therefore rational explanations areimportant. Furthermore, I am proactive with a methodical perspective and have the ability to juggle with anumber of tasks at any given time, plan, review and prioritise, and able to take the lead when necessary.

    My academic career has greatly enhanced my written and verbal communication skills, due to the manypresentations, assignments, reports and projects that were required. These skills have been transferableduring my employment positions as a paralegal. My duties entailed, processing regulatory changes andoperative initiative coupled with writing letters, memos, and drafting, reviewing, amending and negotiatingnew business commercial agreements for various group company subsidiaries. This was to be done withsatisfactory completion of the components and stages to deadline and to agreed quality standards, whilstadhering to maintain accuracy when drafting such document and paying close attention to details. This is

    a skill I have learnt on my professional legal studies, which has given me the ability to interpret complex,and often technical information. For instance, legal documents, policy papers, protocols, guidelines andlegislations into plain English. I have also been responsible for legal queries and issues of subsidiaries,and others internally across business functions to ensure internal agreement and carry out extensiveresearch to develop standard documentation and precedents.

    Subsequently, I have also, experience in Criminal Litigation, which requires negotiating and advocacyskills; preparing and presenting statements of evidence for court, without losing the sight of defending myopinions to a wide range of people. I am unfazed when briefing and presenting to large groups, andremain persuasive, articulate and confident, getting my point across at meetings. Similarly, my previousemployments as a cashier and credit controller has also, given me the experience in liaising withcolleagues and the general public handling cash, administrative duties, accounts, and compliance withthe requisite financial regulations for audit purposes. I have also, successfully developed relationshipswith inter/national clients negotiated contractual obligations, delegate risk assessment and financialoperations to increase efficiency.

    I have experience in research and analytical processes, and training in research methods on socialscience studies. My research thesis was on the use of Biological correlates of Anti-social behaviour withinCriminal Proceedings. This included the design of the study, and the collection and analysis of the data. The analysis was done from both an investigative and a behavioural perspective. The resultsanalysis provides an insight into the unknown offenders characteristics and traits, as well as investigativesuggestions, and strategies for interviews and trial. The samples surveyed were the Metropolitan Police,Solicitors, Barristers or QC and a Control group. This was coupled with literature review both in paper

    journals, the Internet and library based research. Above all, I can see the need for, and can produce, newapproaches to old problems.

    I have also successfully undertaken various team projects within both academic and professionalenvironments. Thus, have the ability to support, advise, and guide those around me, and at the same timehave the ability to work from my own initiative or as a member of a disciplined team. I have good listeningskills, which gives me the ability to deal with clients, investigative analytical problem-solving abilities, tohandle legal casework and decision-making skills. For example assess, the best course of action tofollow. Furthermore, I have the ability to problem solve, tested with continuous problem solving exercisesgiven as assessments, which required statistical analysis and evaluation of data.

    I am a strong believer in working and learning in the right environment. Therefore, I make the most of every opportunity - acknowledging my own development needs and then setting about creatingopportunities for learning. I also have a flexible attitude for learning new techniques and using newtechnology. Competent in Microsoft Office: Word (typing speed: 40 WPM), Excel, Outlook PowerPoint,SPSS (statistics) and other financial packages (CODA/PRISM), and also, an efficient user of the Internetand email. I have an interest in/aptitude for science, keep abreast with current affairs, and enjoy travellingfor culture and arts.
