Language of Flowers

Learn about one of the most enchanting cus-

flowers instead of words. Sending coded mes-
sages using flowers became all the rage during
the Victorian era. From the buttercup (meaning
“ingratitude”) to the pink rose (meaning “secret
love”), each plant conveyed a specific thought or
feeling. Using small bouquets called tussie-
mussies, individuals could express emotions
which otherwise could not be spoken. An educa-

blossoms in your flowerbed. Fans of Vanessa
Diffenbaugh’s book, The Language of Flowers,
will not want to miss this special program. Reg-
