Driving Question
Why do we have names?
Essential Learning Levels
The students will be able to:
• Identify common and proper nouns.
• Make sentences on their own by using proper and common nouns.
• Change ‘one’ to ‘many’.
• Rewrite a sentence in its singular or plural form.
Entry Event -Noun Scavenger Hunt
Children were divided in four groups and worked as “detectives” searching for Nouns hidden in the class
‘Detectives’ hunting for Nouns
They further sorted them into nouns of person, place, animal or thing.
This event got the children excited about nouns and they could be seen identifying nouns even in their school surroundings.
Noun Town • The students created a noun town by
making a collage of pictures.
OUR RESOURCE PERSON- CHARU
MA’AM
• A puppet show was done by Charu Ma’am through a gripping story that led to squeals of laughter as all the characters and things named “This” and “That” caused great chaos and confusion, till ‘Naming Words’ came to their rescue!
• As a reflection of the session children wrote their own stories using ‘naming words’.
Common And Proper Nouns
Students learnt about Common And
Proper nouns and did related worksheets in which they identified nouns in sentences and paragraphs. They also made flip booklets.
Sorting into Common and Proper Nouns
The corridor boards were used as teaching aids and the students had to sort the pictures of common and proper nouns and put them in the correct places.

Differentiated Learning
• Children attempted Graded worksheets catering to different levels at four assigned stations.
Singular and Plural Nouns
Students learnt the rules of converting singular
nouns into plural nouns. They also did related worksheets and saw presentations and videos. They made flip booklets to consolidate their understanding.

Proud Moment -Culmination Event
Ninja Noun Hunt
Parents were invited for the culmination event to witness the journey of children and participate in various activities such as Noun Hunt, Sorting the Nouns and story writing.
Sorting into common and Proper Nouns
Noun Hunt was followed by creating a collage of "Common Noun Town" and "Proper Noun Town"
Presentations- Story time
The groups of students, along with their parents had to write a story with as many nouns as possible, using the pictures. Finally all the groups presented their story to the audience.
