Propaganda is… “communication aimed at influencing a

community of people toward some cause or position.”

#2: Through image and brands (TV commercials, news programs, magazine ads, even movies!)

Propaganda…

...is like an argument that you didn’t know you were in.

Someone is trying to convince you to think a certain way about something…and you usually don’t know it’s happening.

Remember… Propaganda is ANY technique that

attempts to influence the opinions, emotions, attitudes, or behaviors of a group of people IN ORDER TO BENEFIT THE SPONSOR!

The purpose is to PERSUADE!

people's values like family or patriotism

Advertising to Politics In advertising, these propaganda

techniques are useful to sell a product or even get you to believe something

Propaganda is neither good nor bad. It’s just PERSUASIVE.

In politics, these techniques are extremely useful to get you to believe something or participate in something.
