1. O Thou, Je–ho–vah, grant us help, Be-cause the go-dly cease;

2. And to his neigh-bor eve-ry one, Doth ut - ter van - i - ty;

They with a dou-ble heart do speak, And lips of flat - ter - y.

3. The Lord will cut off all false lips, Tongues that speak proud-ly thus:

4. Be-cause the poor are sore-ly pressed, Be-cause the need-y sighs,
