The installed system helps the university demonstrate about the renewable energy systems; show the students - how they are working, energy efficient loads that should be used with these types of systems for reducing energy loss and how to measure the parameters of these components with meters. The purpose is to teach that energy from renewables can meet significant portionof energy requirements of the country.

The renewable energy systems installed at the Al Baha University includes:

The 15kW solar- wind hybrid system uses the energy from the wind as well as the energy from the sun to power their Research Lab.

The approximate amount of carbon dioxide saved from the system installed here estimates to 41.8 metric tonne per year.

Offering an economically feasible and environment friendly lighting solution, the customized induction lamp periphery lighting technology provided are self-contained, stand alone systems with corrosion proof poles that are ready to install units and require no wiring / cabling and trenching.

The lights are wall mounted which are self-contained automatic dusk to dawn operationsand work flawlessly in the harshest climatic conditions. PTL Solar powers UAE's largest GRENLite™ Solar Street Lighting project for ADCO in Abu Dhabi


Project Details

PTL Solar - a leading solar solutions provider and pioneer in Solar Street Lighting have supplied ADCO with plus 300 units of GRENLite™ lighting technology. They were looking for a lighting solution which was tested to the environmental standards. GRENLite™ has proved to provide efficient lighting, help reduce installation and ownership cost.

A project for DUBAL – powering CCTV cameras on solar energy for parameter surveillance


Project Details

PTL Solar powered the CCTV camera’s on solar energy for DUBAL (Dubai Aluminium Company) - one of the world’s largest aluminium smelters, to reduce the carbon emissions in their factory in Jebel Ali facility, Dubai.

The cameras were set on 4 meter high poles supported by satellites. These systems provided uninterruptible power with little to no ongoing maintenance and are designed for long-term operation in the field.

By installing CCTV cameras at the facility on solar energy, DUBAL is saving approx 4.7 tonnes of carbon emissions per year.

In desert locations where vegetation and greenhouse nurseries are being operated, the exhaust fans are keeping the inside temperature cool. The nursery required to power the fans on renewable energy as well as to save energy.

PTL Solar powered the organic farm on solar energy making the system truly green in essence at a remote part of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE - using solar power to provide electricity and power the fans to keep the greenhouses cool.

PTL Solar powers first ever zero carbon emitter farm house on solar energy tracking device

Project Details

In a deserted location, a farm house required power for some lights and also for a water pump to cultivate vegetables and feed their cattle.

PTL Solar provided green solutions to the farm house installing solar water pumps and some lights making the system cost effective and the power was directly being consumed for cultivating vegetables. Solar tracker installed increases electricity production by around a third, maximizing output by more than 40 per cent, compared with modules at a fixed angle.

The total power generated was 8 KW. Solar water pumps are maintenance free and prove to be a boon at the farm houses as they have been facing a challenge on clean & healthy drinking resources since long.

Municipality of Assia was looking at an experimental phase of solar street lighting in Batroun and the project was funded by Spanish Government.

Somalia – brightening lives with solar schools project

For a school without electricity, delivering quality education is a vast challenge.

PTL Solar powered an Orphanage School (WFP Funded Project) on solar lighting in Somalia where you’ll find impoverished living conditions are dire and connection to the electrical grid is a far off dream. The school was powered with 20 solar panels to produce a total wattage of 2.5 kWh. Since the lighting system was replaced by the noise of generators, kids were happy to have clear understanding and the management was happy to know that the system is maintenance free. Solar Powered Fridge was also installed in the School Premises to have access to chilled water to reduce energy bills.

As Scania was applying for LEED Building certification for its new factory cum assembly line in Jebel Ali Free Zone, one of their requirements was to power the yard with solar lights.

Ministry of Defense, United States was looking at a solution for street lights in different locations in Baghdad, Iraq. The US Officials were looking for a reliable product which can stand the harsh climatic conditions in Iraq and also improve the safety conditions at a busy Highway Intersection in Iraq, and decrease the number of casualty incidents at the location.

GRENLite™ features an intelligent onboard operating system that adjusts to the surrounding environment to ensure increased security conditions and continuous light output regardless of environmental conditions. These complete stand alone systems provide reliable and economical source of illumination.

Attesting to the simple installation of the product, only a drill, a screwdriver and a bucket truck were required to mount both the solar engine and the GRENLite fixture onto the existing pole.



World’s second largest Solar Street Lighting installation supported by PTL Solar

Project Details

Government - Yobe State of Nigeria wanted a renewable solution for a 20 Km street in Nigeria. PTL Solar not only supplied the systems for this project successfully but also assisted in supervision and installation of 1000 solar street lights with the support of a local partner. The efficient microprocessor automatically activates from dusk to dawn with three days autonomy.

GRENLite™ 40 watts were provided to the authorities with dual arm structure of the pole covering the same lux levels when compared to traditional lights.

PTL Solar designed a 3 KVA Grid Tie system using high quality solar modules for a residential project. The client required generators to be run by solar energy in the night and power few home appliances like TV, Fridge, Fans, Lights and Aquarium. The system should be maintenance free and which could easily reach 20 – 25 years and if needed to add additional components when required.

The modules were mounted on top of the Private Building in Ajman. Keeping in line with industries best practices, the system was designed to work in the harshest environmental conditions. We are eliminating concretes, wiring, distribution, boards, everything and just have a standing pole, a battery witha solar panel and lighting that has been used here in Dubai in other places like Dubai media city, emirates tower by PTL SOLAR which are tried and tested. This was one of our main concerns because there are a lot of products available but not tested to this environment, to this humidity, to the heat here in summer. So we really went to those that had some historic that its proven for this part of the world.”
