Publication As for previous conferences, there are two publication options for the

12th International DYMAT Conference:

1) Contributions of up to 6 pages for the proceedings book which

will be published in the well-known DYMAT format by the European

Physical Journal - Web of Conference (EPJ – WoC - ISSN: 2100-

014X).

2) Peer-reviewed original papers for a specifically dedicated the-

matic issue of the European Physical Journal – Special Topics (EPJ

ST, Impact factor 2015 : 1.417, ISSN 1951-6355).

The original paper (maximum 35 papers) can either be a 8-10

pages contribution or a 3-5 pages short study.

All submissions must be in one of the following topics:

DYMAT DYMAT is an international association for the promotion of research into the dynamic behaviour of materials and its applications. Every three years, an international conference is organized by DYMAT. The last conference took place in Lugano, Switzerland (2015). The next conference will take place in Arcachon, France (September 10-14, 2018). It is organized in collaboration with CEA and the University of Bordeaux.

Objective

The objective of the triennial international DYMAT conferences is to create a forum where scientists involved in research or industrial applications related to the dynamic behaviour of materials can meet and discuss results and ideas by means of a series of presentations (oral and poster) and a small-scale technical exhibition. Delegates from all nations are invited to attend the conference.

Topics

The topics presented at the DYMAT conferences cover theoretical, numerical and experimental approaches to the various methods used to study the mechanical and physical behaviour of metals, ceramics, concrete, polymers, biomaterials and composites at high strain rates. Participants are also invited to make presentations of work based on specific industrial applications, such as crashworthiness in transport including cars, trains, boats and airplanes ; terminal ballistics related to

defence, shielding of satellites, failure of turbine blades and discs ;

blast effects due to industrial explosions, terrorist attacks ; cata-

strophic failure assessments of engineered structures, material pro-cessing such as high-speed shaping of metals.

Conference venue

The DYMAT 2018 conference will be held in Arcachon at the “Palais des Congrès” Conference Center. Arcachon is located on the French Atlantic coast, 60 km west from Bordeaux, the capital of the region of France with a worldwide reputation for the finest wines. Arcachon has a unique atmosphere, with its charming, elegant 19th century villas in the winter town, a bustling town centre and a 7 km beach. The city of Bordeaux is among France's most exciting, vibrant and dynamic cities. In the past decade, the city has been profoundly trans-formed, with boulevards being pedestrianised, neoclassical architec-ture restored, and a high-tech public transport system created. Don’t miss this treasure in the heart of France's wine country !
