  • Pythagoras impact on the world s and his beliefs .• Pythagoras was a Greek mathematician. He was

best known for the proof of the important Pythagorean Theorem, which is about right angles.

    • He started a group of mathematicians called the Pythagoreans who worshiped numbers and monks.

    • He had a great impact of the world of mathematics, theory of music and astronomy. His theories are still being used today. He was one of the great thinkers of his time.

    • He believed that the deepest level of maths was nature.

  • Legacy...• Although Pythagoras is most famous today for

his mathematical work, he is also the inspiration of many other western philosophies. He influenced Aristotle, Plato and many other concepts relevant today. The Pythagoras' Theorem is still taught as part of the curriculum today.

    • There is no confirmed story or information about how Pythagoras died but the most common is that he and his Pythagoreans' school was set alight, afterwards he refused to run through a bean field since he believed that humans and beans spawned from the same source, this resulted in him being caught and killed.

  • His Proof

    • The proof of Pythagorean Theorem in mathematics is very important.

    • In a right angle, the square of hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides

    • The equation is a2 + b2 = c2.
