A lengthy discussion was had on the positives and negatives of the Constant Contact registration system. The biggestdrawback is that the system does not produce enrollment reports in a format that is useful to us. Martha Ferguson willconsult with her son, who runs a software company, about possibly creating a personalized program for QSC.

Ways and Means – June Fish. The project boxes for retreat have arrived. June will deliver the boxes to White Oak theweekend before retreat. She is planning to order more QSC car decals and, pursuant to a suggestion from a member of theboard, will look into QSC luggage tags.

Publicity – Lynn Baker. Lynn has received all of the publicity materials and asked that she be contacted if you need any.Anita Bowen will take a supply of promotional materials to QSC day at the State Fair.

Website – Tracey Wallace. Tracey will be doing an update of the site this week. Please let her know if you have any quiltshow information for the site. In order to avoid having to purchase clipart, she is asking that members send photos of theirown quilt blocks that she can publish on the page. Please be aware of any potential copyright infringement when sendingher photos. She is also looking for photos from guild meetings to share.

Historian. No report

Pieceable Retreat – Cheryl Keith. Now that registration is complete, Cheryl is reworking the budget. Classroom assignmentswill be sent to the teachers soon. They have already received the class lists and have been asked to contact their studentsfor any questions or further instructions. Two classes failed to reach the required enrollment numbers.

Cheryl is working on the event schedule. The plan is to make the evenings less meeting-like and more social. We will stillhave show and tell and door prizes, but otherwise will be less structured.

A masseuse will be in attendance as will a scissors sharpening service.

Michelle Eno from The Longarm Network in Greenville will have a longarm at retreat and will quilt charity quilts duringretreat. To prevent receiving more quilts than can be handled during the weekend, you must advise Michelle that you arebringing a quilt top.

Cheryl asked that board members be present at 4:00 on Wednesday afternoon in order to stuff the project boxes. A boxeddinner will be provided that evening.

We are reminded to ask all the guilds to provide door prizes.

Spring Meeting – Susan Congdon. Amanda Brown has created a great logo for the Spring Meeting. Susan is working onsetting up a Friday afternoon trolley tour of Aiken and will have information available at Pieceable Retreat on other funthings to do in Aiken. We are reminded that the board should be providing items related to the “Horsing Around in Aiken”theme for the basket to be given away at Retreat.

Spring into Summer – Anita Bowen. The dates for 2017 are May 21-25. Registration will begin in March.

New Business

Patty Cline of Quilters Gallery asked if QSC is interested in hanging a quilt show in connection with their vending event tobe held in Columbia in July. Anita Bowen and Lynn Baker will jointly look into the feasibility of doing such a show andwill report back to the board.

Old Business

Christina Kelly of The Hobbs Group in Columbia will conduct a full audit of the QSC books. It’s anticipated that it willtake about 25-30 hours of work at a cost of approximately $100 per hour.

While a great deal of the materials donated by the Tennessee Quilters for flood victims has been distributed, there are stillsome items in the storage building. Contact Karen Kirkland if your guild can use these materials for charity work.

The Scholarship Quilt was to be given to Anita Bowen who will then deliver it to District VII.

The District Representatives gave their reports and Show and Tell was held.

The next meeting date will be announced at a later time.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:15.

Respectfully submitted, Corky Ledbetter, Secretary
