Dimensions:Dimensions are listed in the following order: Width, Height, Length. For example a 5” x 8” x 16” block is 5” wide x 8” high x 16” long.
The nominal face size of BAUER Block is 8” x 16”. The nominal thickness is 3”, 4” 5”, 6”, 8”, 10”, 12”, 14” and 16” (inches). BAUER Block are manufactured in accordance with “Modular Dimensions”. For example, the actual size of an 8” x 8” x 16” block is 7 5/8” x 7 5/8” x 15 5/8” which allows for a 3/8” mortar joint.
Types of Block:
BAUER Block are manufactured in two basic types of aggre-gates to meet the most exacting and varied needs of modern building requirements.
1). Sand, Gravel, and Limestone Block A strong, dense unit made from clean washed sand, gravel, and lime stone, of medium texture, gray in color. Ideal for commercial buildings and other construction subject to heavy loads.
2). Light Weight Light in weight, providing the following desirable qualities: fire resistance, excellent insulation characteristics, sound absorbing, can be nailed into, easily cut or channeled, ideal base for plastering.
Both types of BAUER Block are designed to meet the C-90 requirements of the American Society of Testing Materials.
