    Executive Summary Overview

    USD18.3bn of deals tracked in Q1 2015, around 39.3% decrease from USD30.1bn in Q1 2014 881 deals tracked from public sources in Q1 2015, an increase from 856 in Q1 2014 The average deal value for investments has increased roughly 23.6% to USD23.9m in Q1 2015, from USD19.3m in Q1

    2014 The average deal value of acquisitions has decreased significantly from USD446.3m in Q1 2014 to USD133.2m in Q1

    Deals by region:

    Asia/Pacific leads all other regions with an average deal value of USD49.3m. The Middle East comes second at USD40.0m.

    Asia/Pacific leads average deal values for investments at USD50.6m Average deal values have increased in Asia/Pacific, Europe, and the Rest of World. However, the average deal values in

    North America and the Middle East have decreased significantly by 52.0% and 48.4% respectively.

    Deals by sector:

    The number of deals dropped in most of the sectors except in the Marketing, Mobile and Apps, and Transactions sectors where the number slightly increased.

    The total deal values increased in Marketing by 23.2%, Media by 23.1%, and Transactions by 49.8%. Total deal values decreased in all of the other sectors with the largest decreases recorded in the Games and Hardware and Infrastructure sectors at 90.1% and 89.4% respectively.

    The average deal values of acquisitions have decreased in all sectors except for Transactions with a 6% increase compared to Q1 2014.
