ANKITA PRIYADARSHI

B.E. (C.E.) Selected in Tata Consultancy Service

Hi I am Ankita Priyadarshi. I got selected on campus for TCS. It feels great to be a part of an organization like TCS and that to if you get this opportunity of getting selected on campus. Having your job letter in your hands before your engineering gets over can be counted as one of the great days of your life.

But this was not an easy cup of tea. It really takes a lot of hard work and determination to get selected in any company. A good preparation is very necessary. Don’t worry, I know these words sound so frightening but believe me, if you want you can and it’s not that tough. Our college does provide many instructions as well as facilities like seminars, T&P cell activities and regular reminders of what you need to do for preparation. Go on with that, keep on following instructions and it will not be difficult for you to get your desired job.

One thing which you should start working on is, communication skills; almost all the companies expect this from their applicants. Do keep your basic concepts clear for technical. For technical preparation, I had gone through

various websites which give you most frequently asked questions in interview. Even it will be beneficial if you attend seminars conducted during that period in our college.

Aptitude is one thing that you have to work on, I almost practiced it for a month before TCS and even we had aptitude sessions in our college, so that helped me having a regular practice of it.

As far as it is concerned about PI, be confident and for that do attend the sessions that are arranged in our college during that time, it does help a lot. The tips they give, they do work.

Getting selected is not the toughest part but even not that easy, what worked in my case was, I dedicated myself to this whole preparation for at least 15 days.

I am thankful to Atmiya Institute and especially our faculties; they worked so hard for us to get selected.

DHARIN PAREKH

B.E. (C.E.) Selected in ZENSAR TECHNOLOGIES, BENGALURU

Hi I am Dharin Parekh. I am currently placed at Zensar Technologies. I would take the opportunity to share with you guys my experience and share some things which will help you guys when you are up for the interview in the upcoming year.

It’s very important to have a clear goal in our minds as whether you want to do study further after BE or apply for a job. As I wanted to get a job I focused my preparation in that direction. Else you can start preparing for CAT, GRE etc.

For Aptitude Round:

The important part of any interview is too crack the aptitude round. R. S. Aggrawal is one of the best book to clear your basic fundamentals. You need to speed up your problem solving skills to complete as many questions as you can in the given time.

For Technical Round:

The subjects which you have studied till now are as much important as the subjects which you will study ahead for the technical round of any interview. You should be thorough with DBMS, OS, C, C++, JAVA, PHP, WAD, android (if you prefer to go in application development).

The Resume and the Project which u will be making in the last year also play an important part. Please prepare your resume properly and don’t write anything which u don’t know. Stick to the truth. Interviewers ask a lot from what you have written in resume and related to the project topic.

For HR Round:

Always be confident. You don’t need to learn vocabulary words or anything to impress, just sharpen your basic communication skills so that you express your ideas

Page 7: Quarterly - atmiyauni.ac.in · SONI OSHIN SANJAYBHAI BE(EC) PATEL MAITRY KANUBHAI BE(EC) ... JAVA, PHP, WAD, android (if you prefer to go in application development). The Resume and

PANORAMA QUARTERLY | Issue1 7

and give the answers clearly and precise.

It is also important that you manage your time well balanced between studies and preparations for the placement. You guys still have a lot of time before the companies start arriving, utilize your time wisely

Our college is providing with many opportunities through on campus as well as off campus companies. Give your best shot wherever you go for the interviews. If you clear it then it’s party time. Else you will have a lot of experience and mistakes to correct before the next interview.

Don’t lose hope or faith in yourself. I myself didn’t clear a couple of such opportunities. But that’s doesn’t prove your weak or incapable of it. Sometimes things don’t go as we want it to go. Keep faith in yourself and try even harder the next time.

I am very thankful to the T&P cell of our college. They organized various workshops to train and guide us. They were very helpful for preparations. You will learn many new things and get tips for performing better.

Finally I would like to thank all the faculties, friends and family members who have supported me throughout for achieving this dream.

KOSHA MEHTA

B.E. (I.T.) Selected in CYGNET INFOTECH PVT. LTD. (CMMI 3)

I am Kosha Mehta from 7thsem IT sharing some of phenomenal experiences regarding placement in CYGNET INFOTECH PVT. LTD. which is CMMI level 3 company.

It is a great honor to be a part of this renowned institute AITS. I would firstly like to thank our TPO TEAM who guided me throughout the journey right from the very beginning aptitude test preparation to H.R.

They built a positive attitude in me due to their enthusiasm and willingness to build the future of students. It is due to the hard work, determination and blessings of ATMIYA staff, my family and friends that I am able to reach to this stage to the best of my ability.

A token of suggestion for my friends:

We need to cultivate good communication skills, confidence, determination and eagerness to present ourselves different from the rest while presenting ourselves to the interview and daily 2-3 hours aptitude preparation is a must.

I am thankful to Training& Placement Cell for support.

SOHIL DOSHI

B.E. (C.E.) Selected in ARTH-I-SOFT

Hello, my name is Doshi Sohil. I am studying in 7th BE in CE department and got selected in the company named Arth-I Soft.

So I insist that all the students must participate in the T&P Cell activities that are going on in our college. Students you will have great benefit by using this service and you will get a good help for your recruitment.

Google is among the most sought after employers in the world. Engineers are the rock stars at Google — and they're paid like one.

Interns start at $70,000 to $90,000 salaries, while software engineers pull in $118,000 and senior software engineers make an average of $152,985. But one does not simply walk into the Googolplex.

The company receives upwards of 2.5 million job applications a year, but only hires about 4,000 people.

Here are the skills Google wants its tech talent to master, complete with online resources to get you started...

1. Learn To Code

Learn to code in at least one object-oriented programming language, like C++, Java, or Python. Consult MIT or Udacity.

2. Test Your Code

It’s not just important to know how to code. You should also be able to test code, because Google wants you to be able to 'catch bugs, create tests, and break your software.'

3. Have Some Background in Abstract Math It is important to have some background in abstract math, like logical reasoning and discrete math, which lots of computer science draws on.

4. Get to Know Operating Systems

Get to know operating systems, for they'll be where you do much of your work.

5. Become Familiar with Artificial Intelligence

Become familiar with artificial intelligence. Google loves robots.

6. Understand Algorithms and Data Structures

Google wants you to learn about fundamental data types like stacks, queues and bags as well as grasp sorting algorithms like quick sort, merge sort and heap sort.

7. Learn Cryptography

Learn cryptography. Remember, cyber security is crucial.

8. Learn How to Build Compilers

Stanford says that when you do that, 'you will learn how a program written in a high-level language designed for humans is systematically translated into a program written in low-level assembly more suited to machines.'

9. Learn Other Programming Languages

Add Java Script, CSS, Ruby and HTML to your skill set. W3school

and Code Academy are there to help.

10. Learn Parallel Programming

Also, learn parallel programming because being able to carry out tons of computations at the same time is powerful.

A professor of philosophy came into his class. He brought some items with him and put them on the table. When the class began, he took a large transparent empty jar and started to fill it with rather massive stones. Then the professor asked his students: “Is the jar full?“. They confirmed that it was.

Now the professor picked up a box of small pebbles, poured them into the jar and shook it, so that pebbles filled the open areas between the rocks. He asked once again: “Is the jar full?“ They agreed that it was.

This time the professor poured a bucket of sand into the jar, and the sand filled up everything else.

Now, said the professor, I want you to see that this jar is just like your life – the stones are the most important things, your main values – your family, health, morality.

The pebbles are other things that matter – your job, house, and car. The sand represents the small stuff.

So if you put the sand into the jar first, there would be no place left for pebbles and large stones. Therefore pay most of your attention to the things, that are the most important in life – spent enough time with your family, take care of your health and don‘t forget to develop spiritually – be kind, honest, sensitive, helpful. These are the things that really matter. They should be your priorities. The rest is just sand.
