Internet of Things (ITU-T): Networked Interconnection of everyday objects

MTC (3GPP): A form of data communication which involves one or more entities that do not necessarily need human interaction

M2M (IEEE 802.16p): Information exchange between a Subscriber station and a Server in the core network (through a Base Station) or between Subscriber stations, which may be carried out without any human interaction

M2M (ETSI): Communication between two or more entities that do not necessarily need any direct human intervention (M2M Services intend to automate decision and communication procession)

TIA- TIA TR-50(SDC: Smart Device Communication) was established Oc-tober 2009- Joint workshop with ETSI TC M2M, 21-22 March 2011

ATIS - M2M Focus Group: Address the M2M, Smart Grid & Connected Vehicle opportunity

ETSI- ETSI TC M2M was established at February 2009- The plan is to finalize M2M Rel-1 in September 2011.

GISFI- M2M standardization in GISFI falls under the IoT WG- The standardization activity is at its preliminary stage

CCSA- Chinese Government has designated a great importance of IoT- Ubiquitous Network TC (TC10) under CCSA was established on Feb-ruary 2010

6. Comments

A lot of M2M standardization & activities are being increased worldwide. And discussions about global harmonization of M2M are initiated.

3GPP coordinator was designated in order to coordinate 3GPP activ-ities among CJK. And in some cases, this approach was a good tool for coordination.

M2M standardization is closely related to IMT.

If m2M global harmonization is more visualized in the future, CJK IMT WG needs to consider designation of M2M coordinator(Probably in the next meeting)
