What subjects will I study?In years one and two, students experience a broad range of introductory business and sports/recreation modules. In year three, studentsselect preferred specialist streams. There is equal emphasis on the business and sports/recreation elements of the course across all 3 years.

Water-based Outdoor Recreation Enterprise and Innovation Exercise Leadership

■ The uniqueness of the course lies in the variety of elective pathways available, opening up a wide variety of career pathways.

■ The fitness instruction component of the course is accredited. Students can gain entry to registers of exercise professionals in Ireland andabroad.

■ During the second year of the course, students have an opportunity to participate in a 15 week work placement.

■ Students on the course have access to state of the art facilities including an exercise physiology laboratory, weights room, dance studio,swimming pool and running track and can also avail of facilities at the new WIT Sports Campus.

Sports ScholarshipsSports scholarships are also made available to selected suitablecandidates. The WIT Sports Scholarship scheme offers a range ofsupport services to successful students including financial,academic and sports science support.

Scholarship students of the Recreation and Sport Managementcourse can gain academic credits based on their sportingcommitments.

Reserved PlacesA number of places may be allocated to applicants noted foroutstanding sporting achievement who reach the minimumacademic entry requirements but fail to achieve the CAO entrypoints required. To compete for one of these places, any studentwho lists WD019 as a preference on their CAO application form byFebruary 1st will automatically receive a separate form from WIT.Applicants must then complete and return the supplementaryapplication form by a specified date as determined by WIT.
